To me it feels weak 3 fire blast 2 pyroblast. So I’m trying to figure out why mages are running flame instead cause during combust with lucid sometimes I get so many procs it feels to good to swap out.
I tried flame an I ran out of fire blast rather quickly I also have the bracers which make lucid even more stronger. Just looking for a explanation. without rng procs normal combust seems weak in this meta fire blast hits for about 10-12 k each an pyroblast hit for like 23-30k each If you don’t get any lucky procs that’s not even 100 kwhich is not that crazy IMO But losing lucid you gain flame. I’m just looking for a good explanation on why I should swap to flame

Stop trying to copy other players, all the top pvper’s copy their talents/traits from someone else.
If it feels good to you then do it. Don’t worry about what other people are doing.
Every game always has a hidden op thing that most people don’t know about. Discover it and keep it to your self.
I believe Graycen runs Lucid, so it’s not everyone.
Combust makes flame crit
If you’re not running lucid you need to cast more in your combust but a tinder fireball is pretty helpful
Pyromaniac also gives godly rng
Lucid Minor still good for combust damage too
ideal insta damage is prolly fireblast meteor combust fireblast pyro fireblast pyro and you can shoot flames in there too
Or can get casts off so you can say fireball pyro pyro or same with scorch etc
that’s weird, most essences are specifically catered to not benefit from spec cooldowns. combust is even worded in that way “your spells’ crit” that would seem to indicate that.
get the gloves = can solo a player in about 6 seconds. Bomb, Combust, lucid, flame x2, pyro, flame x gloves, pyro, flame, pyro, flame, pryo, flame, pyro (and i usually get one more with lucid = all crits).
Conservatively:
20k flames = 120k
35k pyros = 210k
40k bomb
ignite ticking 20k = x3 = 60k
total: 430k alone = without any other damage added

Schism buffs it, I’m honestly not 100% sure though if the flames actually crit and it just might be critting the times I have tried to test it

If combust sets your crit to 100% then I’d think it would make it crit. If combust makes “your spells” crit and doesn’t change your stat, i’d guess you just got lucky. I could also be wrong.
just tested it on my mage. combust doesnt make it crit
You have more dmg every 30 sec instead of this one shot combust that can be peeled or dispelled. higher mmr teams deal with the 1 shot better but lucid aint bad for ladder. flame scales with vers and priest dark arch and coordinated flame goes are deadly lol.
mages with self-respect would drop meteor and gpy for both talents that reduce combust cd
my ilvl is hella low so maybe with dark arch I can hit 45 k meteor but for the most part my damage apart from yours is like 10% weaker still good though
