Combine Dispatch and Between The Eyes?

Is there a reason that these need to be two separate buttons at this point?

They are both finishers and I feel, unless I’m playing this spec entirely wrong, you just use BTE every time it is up?

It is a bit tedious to keep checking if BTE is up before using dispatch. Would like it if dispatch just changed to BTE when it is up or procs. Kind of how sinister strike does for Ambush.

We have enough things to check as we use dispatch already. (RTB, blade furry, combo points, energy, etc)

This is in regards to Midnight pruning changes and with the removal of crackshot.

its good to have 2 unique finishers that do different things

idk why we want to make outlaw into a 2 button spec

One does damage the other does more damage?

But maybe I’m over simplifying.

i mean bte has buffs attached to it, a proc mechanic, a cd to allow it do more damage, range and is iconic.

dispatch has different things attached to it but its overal your filler spender.

having more than one finisher allows for more flexability and rotational flow. instead of stuf spamming dispatch the whole encounter.

like combining bte an dispatch is like asking for r upture to be c ombined with envenom or eviserate for the other 2 specs

I don’t think you even understand what is being suggested. There are a ton of abilities that turn into other abilities. ie, Wake of Ashes turning into Hammer of Light or Lighting Bolt turning into Tempest. There is no situation where BTE is off CD that you’d rather use dispatch, so there is no reason for them to be separate abilities. It should be one button that can proc and change the ability to BTE, not just give Dispatch the effect of BTE.

Again it’s the flexability of having 2 different spenders

Your listing big cd abilities. The closest thing to wake that outlaw has would be killing spree.

Wake is the same CD as BTE lol. And its not flexibility. You always use BTE unless its on CD. It’s bloat. There is no decision making whatsoever.

Saying wake of ashes is the same cd as bte is crazy

Bte has built in cdr with restless blades so it ends up being avaliable under 10 seconds. Maybe more with proper play.

Do you know how outlaw functions?

And you also proc additional Hammer of Lights. And Shaman can proc many more tempests than BTEs.

If you wanted to make the argument that those are all bad design and they should all be different buttons then fine, I wouldn’t agree, but it would at least be a consistent argument. Saying the BTE is functionally any different than the many similar abilities is just absurd.

Okay we only get one proc after 50 stacks of empyrean hammers

You can fit about 5 btes in the time frame where you get your second hammer of light. Your comparing a whole spec engine of restless blades to a stack system

Again do you know how outlaw functions

I am with the OP in that I don’t like tracking the cooldown. I wouldn’t mind so much if we could customize buttons glows.

I would much rather they get rid of RtB. At this point, it has been simplified to the point where it is just a boring maintenance button. RtB has kept me from enjoying Outlaw since its inception.

It’s crazy how yall want to kill all the flavor outlaw has

They should have never simplified rtb, cause now yall want it gone. Give a mouse a cookie I guess

100% with Arahgon in this one, bake dispatch and bte into one skill and the next thing people will be demanding is a automatic dispatch that goes off on it’s own when you reach 5 combo points

Its just such a tedious ability to track. You frequently have to look down at cd manager or skill bar to see if it’s up before dispatching. And because of restless blades it’s not as simple as seeing 10sec left I’ll check again then. No it might be up sooner.

The game play would be so much smoother just tracking when you have 5+ combo points send your finisher without the constant looking down of cd manager.

Rupture and envenom have no cd, I can feel my way with those finishers no problem and one is a dot and you do have situations where you don’t want one over the other.

BTE yes adds a damage bonus which if your in combat is just a cast when up ability, there is no situation when you don’t choose it over dispatch. Otherwise it’s just a harder hitting dispatch outside of that. Its a pretty redundant ability. The only thing your asking the player by keeping it two buttons is do I want to use the little damage button or the big damage button?

use the cd tracker in game and assign a sound to it when its off cd for you too use. use sound ques, heck sound ques helped me out alot

and thats fine, not every spec need to be 3 buttons dude. its okay for a spec to have multiple spenders that do different things. bte providing a damage amp is good enough of a distinction, not to mention the visual flavor of having a gun

Yea definitely will have to play with the cd manager if I decide to main outlaw next expansion.

Just felt this is one area that could be improved to align with the midnight combat/addon philosophy.
I have nothing wrong with multiple buttons, but the way this ability interacts with the flow of combat is clunky. But maybe that’s just me.

i think it s just you, but thats fine. i think cd manager will be great for you. using bl;izzards tools to help you out the same way weakauras helped me. nothing wrong with using tools to help your gameplay. idk why people are adverse to it

Outlaw was given a ranged finisher because it has no DoT any more as part of its tool kit. No Rupture, no garrote like other classic styled Rogues.

No Rogue spec can have 100% uptime on a target in melee range.

if they were to merge BTE and Dispatch what would happen is that the devs would have to nerf Outlaw’s damage in melee range because it would have to be buffed with mobility to have the uptime.
