Combat Visage

Now that Combat Visage is finaly coming in the next patch, I have but 2 notes.

  1. Essence spenders like Disintegrate and Pyre that require dragon form to cast will have to be redesigned in order to not trigger Dracthyr form. When playing Devastation, you spend so much time casting these 2 spells, that you’d either stay in Dracthyr form 85% of the time or keep transforming in and out 2 seconds. Either way, if this isn’t changed, it would make the new feature useless, if not problematic for Devastation Evokers.

This would require a simple casting hand animation for Disintegrate (think frost ray). The same simple fix can be for Pyre, a hand cast firing off a Pyre. While the other specs don’t have that problem this is the minimal change required to make it work for the Devastation spec. Two spell animations.

  1. Please! Give Worgen a Combat Visage option also! I’ve been asking for this since Cataclysmic. I treat my Human and Visage forms like Transmog options. The more options the better. Transmoging is the real end game afterall.

Thank you

I only want to transform when using flying ability.

Let me cast while in half-elf form so I can live out my head canon of being a Krasus like character.

ABSOLUTELY YES! My idea was for like a ghost dragon effect around your visage form to still do the animations but with your visage form still there with reasonable animations

I’d prefer we get transmog support and for visage to be optional then for visage to continuously get preferential treatment

Apparently, blizzard doesn’t think it’s valid that many of us want to be dracthyr 24/7. Half elf is the only valid option in blizzard’s eyes

We aren’t allowed to have beast or monstrous races, everything has to be humans or elves now

Have you ever taken a second to think, just maybe, this was a barrier for getting people to play the class?? This change may bring more people to main evoker and then it further justifies the adding more dev support into more transmog for the Dracthyr model

No, it’ll just get elf fans who are afraid of anything scalie to play the class

And then the majority of dracthyr players would become people who don’t actually like dragons… and of course this means blizzard won’t add support for transmog and will instead double down on visage

Improved visage healing… more barbershop options for visage only… more visage races instead of more dracthyr form support (and of course visage races would be night elves, male humans, female blood elf, and not anything like Tauren, or orc, or Worgen, or Vulpera)

This isn’t bringing anyone to evoker unless they redesign a bunch of abilities to actually not trigger dracthyr.

If hover ALONE isn’t taken off that list, no one will actually ever see their visage, lol. We spend 60%+ of our time in hover (for SC) and we basically only stop to cast empowers which require dracthyr, so this might not be doing as much as some of you think it will.

I’d like it to be a bit of both ways, these changes are good, and the spells the topic creator made should be supported using old animations without turning into the dracthyr form, but Blizzard should also work on improving the dracthyr form’s transmog.

And also make visage optional. It should be opt in and not a required part of Dragonflight quests or Evoker zone quests

Dracthyr aren’t like Worgen who used to be human. Visage literally only exists to be an excuse to not do transmog support. If blizzard designed Dracthyr to work with more transmog options, there wouldn’t be a visage

“But dragons have visage!” Dragons have a visage in D&D yet Dragonborn don’t have them. Draconic humanoids in fantasy fiction have rarely been depicted having human or elf forms, and dragons have those forms isn’t as common as you think

Even in wow’s own world you don’t see drakonids or dragonspawn having visage outside like one example that arguably could have been an illusion spell and not an actual visage

So, I personally want the option to focus on the fantasy of being a bipedal dragon that dracthyr are supposed to represent rather then being another elf variant

The amount of belly aching you are giving this topic is laughable. The train ain’t stopping.

I agree, they need to curate reall well what triggers the Dracthyr form or else it would just be a visual nuisance popping in and out, leading the feature only to be visually pleasing for Pres.

I posted this in a few other threads, but Warlocks just received a breath-attack animation for their Blight spells, and it looks great.

I really hope that this animation is applied to Fire Breath / Dream Breath / Disintegrate, and only force us into Dracthyr form for the spells that actually require flying, like Deep Breath.

It would be nice if we could hover and just have our wings pop out of our back.

This isn’t an either or situation. You’re starting with the false premise, where, people getting what we want, means you don’t get what you want. This is not the case.

You have an irrational fear that the resources at Blizzard Entertainment are so low that they couldn’t possibility cater to your demands if they cater to those of other palyers aswell.

Bobby’s Gone! Chris is back! The new changes for Dracthyr is a good thing. It means, for one thing, that they’re listening. It will also increase the amount of people playing evoker, wich will only increase the chances of further class and Dracthyr race improvements. I’m sure many more are on the way…

So dracthyr will become the fifth elf race rather then committing to being proper scaly dragon people

Not every visage topic is a place for you to vent your frustrations about the dracthyr form.

You can make a post about dracthyr transmog , and or respond to the many already made

You are not adding to this particular conversation, you are taking away. This is immature behavior and you need to grow up.

Anyways , I’m so hoping we stay in visage while hovering . Floating around and casting disintegrate out of my hands sounds amazing . Then transforming into my dracthyr form for deep breath and fire breath is the perfect blend of a character to me.

:star_struck: My exact thoughts even though I’m anticipating fire breath being castable in visage. I wish the hover and disintegrate works similar to priest hover and void torrent animation wise with wings on our back.

Visage getting attention isn’t proof about dragon being forgotten. Maybe they need more time to implement whatever that side needs or it is planned for later? This visage vs dragon is getting so old it gives me fatigue. I’ll be happy for your dragon updates and you shall be happy for my visage. We can both win here.

Or have a cloud effect similar to the Priest Levitate glyph.

I want my evoker to be like Krasus. He’s many people’s favorite warcraft character, aswell as mine. In the books, nobody knows that he’s a red dragon, not even the other members of the Kirin Tor, not even his own pupil, as first.

Both.

The bigger issue is the fact you need visage form to gain the out of combat regeneration. Just like how my Worgen stay in Worgen form the only reason I use visage form is for that regeneration. Healing the entire group between pulls is incredibly powerful for limiting down time. Just the other day I had a devoker asking why as Augvoker I had the swap on and after I explained it they were like… you really are supporting the group in every way you can.

Isn’t it something incredibly small though? 2% more health regen?

Regardless, as a visage enjoyer I’d like to see this buff to be applied to dragon form too.
