Combat in visage/race restriction removed early in TWW

You shouldn’t lie, it doesn’t make you look better.

i dont have to lie and more importantly why would i lie to look better to some random online who means nothing to me?

another person who talks as if their say means something to me

It’s kind of sad that you don’t see the irony in the drivel you post.

The evoker subforum needs more narcs

#neverenoughnarcs

I personally would be happy with them perhaps making the visages similar to druid forms; making the races from glyphs or something and just omitting the draconic stuff from the visages altogether- I personally don’t like humans or belfs, they are boring and vanilla (IMO)

I think you’re on to something. Rather than just giving us the different visage forms, perhaps there is a quest where we have to aclimatize to each race and unlock the racial forms.

That could be really fun and feel really rewarding.

Agreed. At this point I will be overjoyed if they can add the tier set pieces to the barbershop.

Let that furry aesthetic die, it has no place in wow unless they redesign them in a less twinky way and with proper male and female options

Honest question. Do druids complain about being stuck in cat form in combat? Because I don’t remember seeing druids whine about that, let alone to the extent the evoker community whines.

Yes. It’s long been a complaint that things like tier sets, or nice looking polearms and staves are “pointless” on druids because cat/bear are always in form in combat. That is part of why they added the stars glyph, so that balance could also opt into staying in caster form, and why they’ve been good about adding different form options over the years.

The concentration of complaints was historically probably lower, but the two situations also aren’t identical.

Outside of two expansions, druids have always had a spec (resto) which was always able to be in their regular racial form, and at current have two specs that allow them to be. Druids in every spec can at least shift between multiple forms, when doing various things, and also have racial options at their disposal: night elf, troll, tauren, worgen, or kul tiran. Plus each form has a variety of options, your “cat” can be bird-like, wolf-like, a dinosaur, made wood and bones, or fire.

So while a single druid character can be five different playable races, and six different animal forms that each can be several different variations or even outright different animals, everyone playing Evoker has a single option: Dracthyr. A single highly polarizing option with extreme transmog restriction.

as an rdruid main of the last four xpacs and an evoker main as of this season

forms always felt like temporary buffs that you’d take turns swapping between, so you’d get a good mix of animals + being your own character

playing an evoker feels like opting into being ugly, not only is the transmog incredibly annoying, just having to play as dracthyr in general doesn’t feel visually pleasing. to top it off, aside from illusions the only way I can ever play as “my character” is abusing a bug to stay in visage form mid combat. and illusions don’t work in instanced PVP, so a bug is my only way out

the spec designs are honestly fantastic IMO, in all the years i’ve played this game i haven’t played a healer as engaging as preservation. though the class itself is seriously hindered by cosmetic limitations and i know i’m not the only one thinking it

the lizard limitation, for whatever RP it preserved, promised only negatives for the classes’ feel and popularity to a more vanity driven playerbase

Those complaints for years was just about lack of customization for those forms.

While I’m sure they’d like more options, they’ve got far more now than ever.

Not too sure afaik. I know there are some complaints about being stuck in forms mechanics wise and people have wanted Saberon form back for a while now.

Why would you choose to play an evoker knowing you play as a dracthyr? This is like people who pick druid and then complain about having to use druid forms. These forums never cease to amaze.

such an incredibly arrogant sentence for how stupid of a post you just made

if i like the mechanics and flow of a class, that’s enough reason for me to play it… the visuals come second…

that isn’t to say that the visuals mean nothing and i don’t notice how ugly i am. dracthyr is outright hideous and the fact that there isn’t an option to play as visage in combat as an evoker without using a bug shows player feedback was neglected in the classes’ early stages of development
