Combat Animation Feedback
There are a few persistent animation issues that negatively impact immersion and class fantasy:
-
Evokers (Visage Form – Unarmed Combat Idle Animations)
While in Visage form, Evokers use an odd unarmed combat idle animation, as if preparing to physically punch enemies (unarmed combat animation). This feels inconsistent with their identity as spellcasters and seems like an oversight. It becomes even more frustrating since Dracthyr already have heavy restrictions on transmog options and using Visage form should feel like a better alternative, not a downgrade. I would be fine with them defaulting to mage combat idle animations or none at all. -
Warlocks (Missing Unique Combat Idle Animation)
Warlocks have a distinct, intimidating combat idle animation shown during character creation that perfectly matches their dark, commanding theme. However, this animation is never actually used in-game. Instead, they default to the generic mage combat idle. Restoring their intended animation would greatly enhance class identity and visual appeal. -
Male Blood Elf Priests (Head Tilt Combat Idle)
Male Blood Elf priests currently have a noticeably exaggerated upward head tilt during their combat idle stance. They appear to be staring up at the sky, which looks unnatural and distracting. This animation differs from other races (such as Night Elves) whose priests have a more natural, slightly tilted head position. Adjusting this to match other priest stances would significantly improve immersion and playability.
For context, they are the only priest race/gender combination that does not look at their target during their idle combat animation.
Summary
These may seem like small details, but animations play a major role in immersion and overall player satisfaction. For me personally, the Evoker and male Blood Elf priest animations are especially frustrating, they’re significant enough to be deal breakers. Fixing these issues would greatly improve the game’s polish.
