Seems to be any mob in Hyjal once you get into combat with it, even after killing it combat will not drop. You can run miles away, logout etc nothing seems to drop the combat. Making questing in Hyjal very unfun, would love to hear from a blue asap.
File a ticket? An easy fix would be dying/feign death/stealth. I also think killing something else will help.
Yes you can die/feign death/stealth, but as soon as you attack another mob you go back into combat forever until you have to die/feign death/stealth again. Not everyone is a hunter/rogue that can just get out of combat that easily.
Well then file a bug ticket, thats a bug. We cant do anything about that here. (and I doubt a blue will give a rats booty to respond)
Well you seemed to care enough to respond so just as much possibility a blue could comment. Also Ive yet to see a forum post on this and if more people are having this issue they can express whats going on here.

You Agro’ed the grass. Make sure you kill that too.
This happens in more zones than just Hyjal. It’s not something new, although it might be new to you. I’d still post about it in the bug forum, which while it may not “get a response” it’s far more likely to actually be investigated by QA team than being seen here by a CM whom you then have to trust will get it to the QA team to investigate.

A lot of the time this happens to me it seems that I have some how agitated the surrounding critters, It can be annoying these little buggers are not normal mobs and will follow you for ever and a day. They will also submarine into the ground if you are travelling on uneven ground.
if it happens just check to see if you have an angry little thing biting your toes or drop an AOE over your self. It may solve your problems
Yeah. Literally was in the same boat last night. Went into hyjal on my monk. Do a quest get stuck in combat. Went into a arena skirm. Got out of combat. Came back, killed a mob… Stuck in combat again until I died/ went into another skirm… was extremely tilting. I don’t know I’ve never experienced this before. I’ve had it where once in a while I’d be stuck in combat but once you’re out of it, you’re ok. But this is actually super annoying. I already placed a bug report about it whether or not it does anything is a different story.
welcome in 2024 where this bug still exist. i hope that microsoft rehires a lot of qa people after activision celebrates a record year and firing 70 to 85% of the qa department.
