Colossus Single target damage

Hey Blizzard

Any chance you could buff Colossus single target damage for both Arms and Prot?
It feels a little underwhelming compared to their competing trees (Slayer and Mountain thane).

I understand they are more AoE focused (although Mountain Thane is equal in AoE to Colossus I think), but the difference is quite vast

Maybe buff the first 2 hits of Demolish? Or maybe the whole demolish? I’m not sure, just feels a little weak in ST

Colossus could definitely use a buff to bridge the gap between it and Slayer in ST raid settings so you’ve got an option to use it instead. Although right now, Colossus does have value on a handful of M fights over Slayer if you decide to stick to Arms for prog or farm.

However there’s something Colossus gets quite a bit of ST from though and that’s having a secondary target to sweep to.
If tanks are aware of this they can drastically improve your ST throughput in an m+ encounter by bringing in some mobs to SS to since it ends up being somewhat of an additional funnel for cleave bombs, higher set bonus uptime, faster Might stacking and more frequent demolish casts to the point where it makes a well played Colossus do a decent bit more ST than other specs that should beat it.

As for what could be helpful to colossus going forward? Honestly it should be leaning more into demolish itself, make it an auto crit like Chaos bolt and have your crit % transfer into additional crit dmg % for it meaning crit stacking for colossus would lead to more consistent damage and shorter demolish CDs further amplifying it’s playstyle of big bonk gaming. This would also reduce it’s variance by a decent margin bringing up it’s average ST up a decent chunk to bring them closer.

I feel like colossus is also currently under performing at the moment in PVP. I’m hoping its at a minimum still just a gearing issue but feels further behind than this point in the last two seasons. The set bonus penalty seems pretty steep as well in pvp – I’m debating if I should event spend the time and conquest to experiment with a 4set before the conq cap is removed.

That’s kinda the problem with Colossus in PvP too, it’s a build that relies a lot on critical strikes, so you kinda have to gear differently in PvP compared to what you would for Slayer Arms, or any fury build to make up for this with a lot of crafted pieces or M track PvE pieces. Then there’s the trouble of crits being a lower crit dmg % baseline in PvP too as opposed to PvE.

It doesn’t help a lot of Arms talents have negative modifiers on them that are multiple xpacs old.

I did solo shuffle to 1800 within an afternoon though last season without much trouble at all as Colossus. But that was basically a wolf being let out in a chicken coop. PvP doesn’t interest me anymore since the advent of SS, it’s just a one and done get the elite set in an afternoon and not touch it again till the following season.

Certainly, would help, lean into bleeds more for time being and ST isn’t as atrocious.

For sure they could lean more into bleeds but that would also significantly buff the AoE of Colossus, which isn’t too bad at the moment.

I just want the ST to be better, though I’d be happy with anything (including bleed buffs if that’s what they did)

I enjoy Colossus for goofing off, but I don’t like the feel on extended encounters.
