Color Wheel Customization

After some contemplation from different threads I started to think why does blizzard not give us a color wheel to choose from when creating our character and make it a whole lot easier for all of us. Some people saying they wish they could make night elves with blackish skin outside of DH or people saying they want blue eyes for lore reasons… or maybe I want a blue Mohawk on a human. It doesn’t even have to be a bright fluorescent option more like a gradient or light color. I say give it to us and while you’re at it lets us do tattoos and scarring customizations so that we can all be as unique and individual as we can and not blonde blood elf female #45456

We have to blame the engine that they used to create WoW and built upon. It is a modified Warcraft 3 engine, and it wasn’t built to easily allow re-colorable textures. To “re-color” it would be like changing the entire hue of the texture. Not saying it couldn’t work, but it… wouldn’t be pretty.

Edit: As it is now, every recolor is a completely new texture.

Too bad they haven’t updated that with the more recent engine updates, but it’s altogether likely that they simply can’t change it without a near complete engine rework.

limitations of the engine. like the faces of characters are one whole texture. so eye color change, requires changing the whole face. for example, gold eyes for belfs.

somebody mentioned that draenei had a new hairstyle in wod that had to be removed because it caused server crashes . one too many texture+animations.

If it’s an engine issue then I wouldn’t mind all this mutter about a WoW 2 afterall… move on to some other engine smooth and easy

thats the reason we can only have already existing races for allied races. they are already done with full animations and only some minor modifications are necessary
