Collectors bounty event is the wrong direction

Not because I think people should have access to things they missed out on but because it’s simply a poor way to do it.

If you want people to come back and play WoW. Just raise the drop rates of the legacy mounts. It doesn’t have to be a crazy amount, but please do not make an event that only benefits people who have the opportunity to play for that short time frame.

I like to hunt for legacy mounts when I have nothing better to do. I do not want to cram my legacy mount grind into an event. We already have timewalking dungeons for obtaining things we missed out on… Collector’s Bounty just seems like a cheap marketing ploy and it’s not good. Scrap it. Increase the odds of legacy mounts permanently.

That’s how you do it, Blizzard. Do not make people feel like they’re forced to play during a certain period over and over and over. It’s getting tiring.

I thought the greedy emissary was killing the goblins thing. The collectors bounty buff is the thing that increase drop rate of mounts.

You may be right. Yes, collector’s bounty. Not sure where I got Greedy Emissary.

Nah uh because any kind of “fomo” these days has to be met with outrage.

You should lead with this so people know to stop reading faster.
“Forced” to play video games is such a disgusting/emotional manipulative buzzword.

I used it in quotes indicating obvious sarcasm.

I’m all for events. They are a good way to unite people and encourage people to return. But legacy mounts? The logical solution is to increase the drop rate of them. Not give people a month-long window to do so.

The purpose of legacy mounts should be to give people the opportunity to get old things they missed out on. This just exacerbates that for anyone who isn’t fortunate enough to have the time to play during this upcoming event.

They are using all these little events to fill in the dead space between patches. I’m a fan. Usually idling until the next patch, at least these events give people something to do

So events are ok as long as its not stuff you want long term

You mean like Remix?

None of this guarantees you a drop. And it lasts a month.

Let’s stop concern trolling.

You aren’t supposed to earn all of them during one event.

It’s a nice bonus incentive for folks working on a mount. It’s not a obligation to grind every mount in the game.

Again, you had a good point until this.
No one is forcing anyone to play other than themselves.

And it is the end of the season so blizz is trying to encourage people to play. If they want to over do it and over farm. That’s on them. Most of these mounts have been around forever and most people that are after them have a farming system already.
So if anything, people will grab a few more alts than usual.

I think this new collectors buff thingy should be on at all times for legacy content, also make content tick over as legacy as soon as any given expansion is over.

I understand this is your preferred solution, but why is it the logical solution?

How will your proposal bring players back to the game as you suggested in the op

Let’s look at it from a broader perspective:

Someone wants to return to WoW 2 months from now. Enjoys collecting mounts, and discovers they missed out on the prime opportunity to get the legacy mounts they never found.

Or:

The discover the legacy mounts now have an increased drop rate and this could easily be a determining factor for someone to come back. Because people love their mounts.

You keep misunderstanding this. There is no guaranteed droprate for these. Were you upset over Remix, too?

Marketing events are fine. This isn’t just for mounts. Stop worrying about hypothetical other people.
