Collecting 1.1 million anima is painful

I’ve been collecting anima over the week. ATT tells me that I need at least 1.1 million in order to collect most to cosmetics… Well, I just did a grind for about 3 or 4 hours and ended up with 30K.

Yeah, i feel sorry for someone going after it now, it felt kinda crappy but not tooo bad while it was current because we had it coming in from so many sources in our day to day lives. Doing it now would be horrible.

I mean nothing has changed though? The fastest way back then was still rares in ZM. They never buffed the rewards from WQ or anything else. The methods for getting even 100k are insane. You can log on 50 chars and do the two world bosses per week for an easy 50k but that’s even a lot of work. A single WQ gives like 50 anima

I could be wrong, but I believe upgrading your Sanctum increases the anima drop rates…so if you are going for the 1.1 million it may be a good investment if you havent already done it.

This won’t help the drop rate, just your sanity, but I would concentrate on buying one item at a time and stop looking at the overall cost.

Will anima be transferable after the Shadowlands warband changes that are happening?

It’s not meant to be grinded in few weeks, months or 1 season. It’s meant to be grinded for the whole Expansion (like 3 to 4 Seasons).

It’s not for Tourists who would disappear after playing the game for few weeks.

It’s best to grind it when Shadowlands was the current Season. Maybe wait for Shadowlands Classic if it ever happens.

Oh no! It’s almost like it was meant to take a full expansion over the course of 2 years and multiple characters to complete!

We require more anima!

Painful for sure and a reminder at how terrible Shadowlands was with its game systems.

Also there are three WBs (Covenant Zone weekly, Korthia, ZM), Korthia usually has another 500 for killing the elites near the WB, another 1-2 500 elite quest weeklies show up in the Covenant zones, and running the raids (can run them all on LFR from Oribos) drop anima.

Ranking up covenant sanctum to 3 will add extra anima returns on most everything but the elite / wb 500 anima quests, though is quite costly so only useful if way behind on a character you plan to farm anima on in places like ZM.

Anima is transferable now - though a pain in the *** as you have to buy 1K tokens in Oribos on the character with anima, send / warbank it to another character, and then deposit it in sanctum - and from what was reported on PTR, anima is not being changed to be easily warband transferable with the currency system.

I didn’t bother cause I didn’t want most of that stuff. I got a lot of mounts from the mission table stuff I think.

Or the chests there, each one is roughly 1 average WQ in the other zones.

it’s hell. it’s suppose to be a bad experience.

The anima grind was intended to last the entire expansion lifecycle…you didn’t honestly think you could do it in a weekend, did you?

I mean… I played all of Shadowlands, on multiple alts, pretty extensively, and I still have about 500k worth of stuff to buy.

The anima grind is intense no matter when you started it.

which is why i will never do the grind ever. i never started it.

the expansion is over.

It already is but it’s a stupid system.

There’s a vendor by the flight master in oribos who’ll trade you 1000 anima for a warband transferrable box worth 1000 anima.

But I wish Blizzard would just delete that and make the currency itself transferrable.

Imagine its spaghetti code. The way anima works while deposited is really weird

I don’t really agree with the folks asserting that farming anima was meant to last ‘for an entire expansion’. It’s mostly for cosmetic stuff, so I think that it’s just because there’re a lot of cosmetics. I don’t think there was really any specific length of time in mind to ‘complete’ it.

Also, regarding anima transfers, I read in another thread where folks were discussing it that apparently each of the four covenants has its own anima ‘currency’ and that’s why the system’s as jank as it is.

Yeah, it’s pretty awful. They haven’t done anything about it yet, so I would not be hopeful that they will. Skyriding definitely helps in ZM. Druids are great because they can open chests without dismounting. The weekly quest in ZM gives 500, I think. I switched toons after completing this.
