A few things I have say about these keys.
If they’re meant to be an incentive to do bountiful, I should have farmable ways to gain key shards outside of a limited amount of time in world soul stuff. Let them drop from theater participation chests. Allow me to spec my WQs into getting those over valorstones and money.
Is anyone else having issues getting keys outside of the 4 per week from, purple chests?

It’s a lockout.
You get your 4 from weekly caches.
You get roughly 2 more from the Echoes you’ll get throughout the week as you complete Bountifuls with keys + just a couple Key Shard World Quests.
That’s 6 without a crazy amount of effort.
Might be able to get to 7 if you do very well with your Echoes and do every single Shard WQ.
Once you unlock it, you can also get +3 keys per week (account wide AFAIK - meaning you can’t do this every week on every alt) from the Delve Vendor, provided you have the currency. Probably worth waiting for the 50% discount perk.
How do you keep getting so may shard Wq?
I’ve seen 2 over the past 2 weeks.
Both for 25 shards each.
rn I have 75 shards , no keys and 5 echos.
This is counting the 25 shards from the 1 shard WQ I had on my world map.
Note: I did get my 4 weekly keys , which I spent doing T8s already.
4 keys total spent this week.
Yeah I get about 4 a week. The shard WQ is super rare and the world soul activity is mindless and unless I missed it, they haven’t fixed the 5x version so I’m just biding my time until that fix is done.
Once you have all Champion level gear or higher, does bountiful offer anything other than Brann xp?
We get runed crests from them, and if you get a map you get gilded.
I’ve got 15 guiled so far.
I do them even if I don’t have keys for the crests and the maps.

Counting echoes as extra keys is wild to me considering how terrible that garbage is.
4 is the right amount other than that it becomes insanely unefficient. That said, to me even if they gave me 8 keys from caches I wouldnt do 8 delves… but that’s just me. I do understand why there’s 4 keys only at the start it didnt make much sense but later I understood why…

To be honest, I’m barely even getting the basic four keys.
The world content in TWW is quite the mish-mash of stuff and the keys are generally locked behind events/quests that are low on my fun list.

Good idea. I think it’s relatively simple to obtain them ATM though. There is a roundabout path to get coffer keys from WQ but… Eh.
They should be extra easy to get, I find the world soul thing to be like M+ lite with no chance of gear. I just do them to get coffer keys… Kind of a strange waste of time feeling I get by doing it for 25 bits. Gotta collect 5 and join raid? Bah
World Soul Memory events are the bigger source of coffer key shards, far more than the world quests. They are the other half of the gameplay loop.
Spend keys in delves to get echoes, use echoes to do event to get key shards to turn into keys to use in delves for more echoes. Repeat.
The trouble is the radiant echo events dont quite 1:1 match the amount of keys you spent to do the event, even in a group I think you are still a little short. a 5xecho event in a group gets you 200? 250? shards so like 2 keys worth of shards but 5 echoes would have cost you 5 keys.
Doing it in a group is usually a better return since you can get a better score and thus more shards, since it’s a 5 minute timed event.
Memories give 25-35~ shard per echo spent with very sharply diminishing returns. I would be interested to hear if someone actually managed to get 300-350 shards from a single event with five echoes, since that would be way way more than I’ve ever seen even after racking up a high score in a pug raid set up to do them.
They obviously don’t want each bountiful delve to reward the ability to get another key, which is fine, but it would be nice to see another source of echoes outside of bountiful delve chests. Maybe sprinkle a few in from world quests, let a couple be bought weekly with kek, etc.
It’s that low? I knew it wasn’t a 1:1 echoes from keys to key shards, but that’s loooow.
I’ve only done a few so I wasn’t paying that much attention to how many i actually got. I just knew what I got wasnt the equivalent of what I effectively spent to get it.
Well.
Once you unlock the keys in the track you can get up to an additional 3 keys from Sir Finley, then an additional 1-2 from WQ/Echoes. I believe the keys from him reset(According to a reddit post) weekly but it’s account-wide and not character.
So realistically you can get up to 8-9 keys but by the time that’s possible, your character will likely be geared out. I wouldn’t be against them dropping coffer shards in the chest at the end of a delve myself. Least it would increase the incentive to clearing 8 delves during a week for GV.
just cosmetics and achieves
The crests drop via the heavy trunks and not the bountiful coffer. That goes for the gilded crests too if you used the map. The only thing that irks me about coffer keys and delves is the lack of catch up for an alt. The buying 3 keys from the one dude probably will help, but not if you have a couple of alts that you leveled up much later on.
Also I hate that after using a map, you can’t get another map when Zekvir pops up again. Both my main and my warrior got a map on Monday, so I decided to wait to use it until Tuesday. Zekvir, popped up on my second run for my hunter for the week after I used the map on my first run and no map dropped. Then the same thing happened to my warrior. However, I get the map via Bountiful Coffer, this past Sunday on both toons. Because of this, anytime I do a bountiful delve, I need to open to the chest now for a map.
I don’t think it’s that scientific, Zekvir invasions just only drop a map 20-25% of the time.
If someone has worked out some kind of map time gate that prevents you from farming them endlessly I’d be curious to hear about it, because as far as I know they’re just rare and random.
