Code Redemption in Vanilla

A burning question I have wondered… Will the few redemption items that you were able to claim during Vanilla be available for redemption also in Classic?

Such as the Collectors Edition items, the pet panda, zergling, and mini-diablo?

or how about the handful of first batch of TGC loot items released in October 2006 that were available at the end while vanilla while 1.12 was still active and TBC wasn’t released yet,
The riding turtle, hippogryph pet, tabard of flame from the Loot Cards
or the UDE point redeemable items, tabard of frost, perpetual purple firework, and ogre disguise?

For those who happen to still have one of these old redeemed cards or codes laying around, Collector’s Edition CD Key, or whatever? Or possibly battle.net linked? if you have these in the main game, you’ll automatically get them in Classic?

Yes, this is confirmed.

Unknown on everything else.

The TCG vendor is not in Booty Bay.

now the next question is, I wonder how we redeem the cd key code? Same way as retail, linked to battle.net account, so those who already have claimed the pets in the current version of WoW, will find those pets waiting for them at login on Classic, or do we have to reclaim them through some special vendor or a special redemption website for Classic.

When the spectral tiger came to be?

That wasn’t 1.12 anymore, that was 2.0 aka the Burning Crusade prepatch.

Actually the first set of WoW TCG first went on sale in October 2006, “Heroes of Azeroth”, while the game was still in version 1.12 during the final couple months of Vanilla… TBC wasn’t released until January 2007 and it’s pre-patch events begun in December.

So redemption cards such as the riding turtle, and the others I listed were available while the game was still 1.12. Also these cards at the time pointed a special website (Upper Deck Entertainment) to redeem the codes at…

If you also use the wayback machine, you can even see a post from October 2006 which discusses the 3 in-game loot card items and 3 additional in-game items that can be received with UDE points (points you got from buying card packs).

The bulk of the TCG cards, especially the more highly desired/popular cards, were released during the subsequent explosion of WoW trading cards during The Burning Crusade and so on. As for the Reigns of the Spectral Tiger and the Swift Spectral Tiger, that was released with the Fires of Outland TCG set which came about during August of 2007, deep within The Burning Crusade patch 2.1.3

You wont need to still have the physical copy of the card or code written down. Blizzard has account history for all redeemed codes used on your account whether that be through the blizzard website or in-game NPC’s. (Even for items that don’t reward a Feat of Strength) I have talked with GM’s in the past and it isn’t achievement side.

These will most likely be seen if TBC Classic servers happen, or at the last phase of Vanilla if TBC isn’t what the community wants. (eg. you can’t have TBC Collectors Edition pet in Vanilla.)

I’m not asking whether if it is battle.net linked, as in all honesty this chiefly only involves the CD Key redemption for the collectors edition of Vanilla as the 3 pets you receive are account bound.

TCG loot items on the otherhand, aren’t Account Bound. they could only be redeemed by one character, on a specific realm that you claimed it under from the upper deck website at the time… so unless Blizzard made pets/mounts/items in Classic account wide (which they wont)… then we have a problem. So Blizzard would need to make a new way to claim the six non-account wide loot items by a character on the realm of your choosing.
