Code of conduct reporting

I do find it a little concerning that they’re “overtly” injecting this politics stuff into the game now

If they were going to quietly add things to the TOS in the background, that would be one thing. Most of that is fine print and “in the background” so we don’t see it at least

But when they’re putting leftie/“woke” stuff right there on the login screen (“social contract”), yikes lol

As a common courtesy, they should’ve announced the social contract as a “minor footnote” or “back page of the newspaper” kind of thing. A lot of us don’t want to see leftie stuff in our faces when trying to enjoy a video game. They need to keep the unasked-for politics stuff to themselves imo (or in that fine print mentioned above)

You don’t see McDonalds or Walmart, or most large companies for that matter openly posting politics stuff. That’s the correct way of going about business imo - just keep the politics stuff out and focus only on the product or service

It actually says" “While in Azeroth, do your best to…”

How does that equate to “You are required to…”?

Sounds like a suggestion to me.

Let’s consult the social contract:
Hate speech? Nope
Harassment? Nope
Threats? Nope
Abusive language? Doesn’t sound like it
Spamming advertisements? Nope

So yeah sorry, it’s a dick move and it sucks to have that happen to you, but not everything remotely mean falls under the behaviors banned by the social contract.

It does not say “must” anywhere in that sentence. Also there are no repercussions listed if someone does not “do their best”, and thus by definition that is merely a suggestion.

I personally think that players should be notified of the reason given for their removal. It will be useful if they get kicked for the same reason repeatedly (“tank doesn’t know dungeon” or “keeps pulling stuff”), but also if they see that it’s a ridiculous reason they will understand that it wasn’t their fault.

Also, the message that is chosen from a menu or typed into a box would remain part of the record for the reporter. So if he typed something meaningless a lot, he would lose the privilege of using vote kick.

Actually, I am in agreement with that.

It’s not a bad idea but not that helpful really. Most people just leave it blank anyways or type something short and useless like “lol” or “noob” or something

I like it, it could be helpful

I mean that’s still using the kick function as intended. If the group doesn’t want someone they can kick them. It sucks a bunch but don’t think any action should be taken. Just one of those moments you have to take on the chin.

It doesn’t have to be that way. If they put “noob”, then the player would know that the people who kicked him were jerks and not feel it’s his fault in any way.

There should be a menu of common reasons (like afk or dc), and a box for “other”. As a part of being helpful, players could type a few words that actually convey why the player was removed.

And if they type “gay” or “queer” (I’ve certainly seen both) that would go on their record in case someone thought that should not be a valid reason to kick.

Seriously, why would you want to protect trolls by hiding this from their victims?

As long as it’s within CoC, I personally don’t have a issue with people would say. Even if it’s you suck. I think I could deal with that. Because… well maybe I do🤷🏼‍♂️

I don’t, I said it was a good idea but just not going to have much impact.

It could have some positive impact. It certainly doesn’t now.

Feel like we’re not getting the full story.

Either way thats not really considered “griefing” op. Hell very few things if any are considered griefing. Getting kicked from a rando dungeon is nothing new. You shrug it off and move on.

Word of advice though. Dont try to help the tank or anything with aggro. Leave it to them and if they screw up it’ll be on them and you will be clean of any guilt by association.

this is just the way kick has always worked ( if 3 ppl decide they dont like you or want to have some fun at your expense out you go)
as an automated system it has never worked, and griefing using the in game system is just getting worse and worse as more and more ppl abuse it.

Nope. Caps already posted the Blizz support article about on it.

Which is a suggestion, not a rule.

Not griefing-they just didn’t want you sitting at their lunch table anymore. I know it stings but grab a tissue, wipe your tears, and get back in the kiddo! You can do it!

It’s such an easy fix, install a bonus roll at the end for finishing the que with all the original players, which is invalid if you vote to remove a player from the group, it will cause people to be more responsible for their vote to remove a player. I would also like to see a bonus reward for helping out lesser geared players as a choice. These concepts are in other games already and is possible. Shame people have to be rewarded for simple kindness, but here we are…

Exactly the point of my reply. People taking “try” as “do”!

RIPE for abuse, big time!!

my $.02 is if i ever queue into a random dungeon where there are 3 players from same guild i will immediately drop dungeon
