For all the jazz fusion fans, and music lovers in general, Chick Corea passed away recently.
He was massively influential and recognizable across genres. I remember listening to him in Return to Forever and his Elektric Band albums as a kid - well after that music was released. Here’s one of my favorite pieces by him in probably one of the earliest and more prolific jazz fusion bands:

I’m not directly familiar with Chick myself, but Rick Beato has one of my favorite YouTube channels on music and the music industry, and he had a great discussion about Chick earlier today.

I respect Jazz, but I am not a hardcore Jazz fan. With that being said, I managed several record stores in the 80s and 90s and when I needed some relaxing music, I always put on some Chick.

What genre is more your style? If you don’t mind me asking?
I don’t mind at all. I am an Oldies and Classic Rock kind of guy. I also have a huge appreciation for Easy Listening and Lounge music. Besides managing record stores, I was also a radio station DJ in the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

That is so cool! You should be a raid lead just to spread the DJ voice and quick phrases!
There’s a ton of great music out there. The first band I ever saw live was the Moody Blues that my mom took me to see in the late 80s when I was young. I think they’re a bit more “newer” than oldies - if you mean stuff from the late 50s that is.
I don’t raid, but I have been told that I do have a great radio voice. I love the Moody Blues. My first concert was the Kinks with Cyndi Lauper opening in 1983. I was a Junior in high school.

Indeed. I have seen the Rolling Stones, the Eagles and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to name just three.
Yeah, those are classics. Thanks for sharing, Py.

My pleasure. I have always wanted to start a music lovers guild, but there doesn’t seem to be an interest for such a thing on Moonguard.
Communities are cross server, though not cross faction. And folks can join multiple communities on a single toon.
True. Something you might be interested in? Besides music, I also like talking movies and books.
Start it up and I’d join!
Would it be better to start a guild or a community?
Community, because any alliance from the Region can join that way. Guild can only be joined from folks in server, or any connected servers.
OK. I will look into it and get back to you in this thread.
