Coalfist Gronnling Farming Tips?

Of all the farms in WOW this is by far the most difficult I have encountered.

The work is entirely frontloaded and it can take months to get a Garrison and it’s followers to a sufficient level in order to start seeing the “Breaker Two” mission. It worse than the Vial of the Sands  .

Coal is worth a decent amount of gold on my server, especially if you have enough Garrisons to farm him.

My understanding is that one needs to have at least 3 Level 675’s and was it 7 or 8 645’s?

Check, after using several, “Arms of the Frozen Hero” – I have many Garrisons up to specification.

I haven’t seen him on any of my 9 eligible Garrisons yet, BUT it’s only been a few days – and i’ve started to notice other rare missions I had never seen.

Questions:

1.) About how often does the mission pop up?

(I’ve heard every other week)

  1. Does completing missions and cycling through them make Coalfist pop up faster?

(I really hope not, I want to be done doing Garrison Table Missions.)

  1. Does having more 675 followers than 645 followers increase Coal’s chance of popping up?

(Again, I hope not. I want to be done upgrading followers.)

In an ideal world I would like to be able to just sign in and look at each Garrison Table once a day for 10 seconds with no additional work.

This has been an enormous project for a fairly small payout of being a Coalfist Farmer.

You get one special mission a week (pet, follower armor, oil, resources, gronnling). The Coalfist Gronnling can be one of these. It is random but should appear eventually. Running missions with multiple characters is the best way to increase your chances.

It may be easier to see if a guild member has one to give away or check the auction house. They used to be fairly cheap.

Maybe I need to check the price on these. I have like 20 of them sitting in one of my GB.

Just buy it off the AH for 2k

I am trying to farm these to sell on AH.

They are cheap on most servers, but on mine they sell between 5,000-20,000 depending on the day.

Holy ravioli

Then yea it’s basically hope your rare mission of the week is the mount

That’s not going to be a particularly lucrative trade opportunity for you, bud. It’s definitely not every other week they pop up. I’ve seen them maybe three times since WoD, and I use my garrison relatively often.

Last I checked on my server they were like 500g so that’s rough if they are going for 5-20k

Well I certainly hope it’s not every other year …

I’ve got it 3 times on this guy with WoD, and once on my paladin

It’s not super commob

Bruh if the mounts I wanted were that cheap I wouldn’t be worrying about money with as much I have.

Actually it is pretty common, if you have enough alts with garrison built up you should see 1 or 2 a month. I know when I was doing them still in BFA I was getting them often. But they hardly sell and very cheap on all the servers I play on.

I do not know how helpful this is, but when I was trying to get the heirloom rings with the shipyard missions I did some research that suggested that I do missions on certain parts of the maps to try to get the ring missions to spawn. I did this for a while and they never spawned. Eventually I just began spamming as many missions as possible to get them out of the pool to hopefully increase the chances of seeing the ring missions. Sure enough, next day, they spawned.

The garrison missions I think are just programmed in a C++ array (an array I think implies an even chance for all missions to spawn though, so I’m not sure if that’s what it actually is) and all you need to do is just spam as many missions as possible to get the unwanted missions out of the pool/on CD and to increase the chances of seeing what you want to see.

Not 100% sure if that’s actually how it works, but it appears to be the case, from my experience.

Good luck.
