If I play 2 characters on the same level every week, are they co-mains or is 1 the main and the other the main alt? Or are they both alts?
Curious to know what people think.
For context, I am talking about DK (tank) and Priest (healer).

Theyâre all mains. Have 12 mains. Donât stop there, make it 20!
In all seriousness though I generally have 2 mains. Anything after those two would be alts. If I end up say, raiding with a dedicated team, then that character would technically be my main but the other wonât be far behind.
Do you prefer playing one over the other? If so, I would consider the preferred character the main, the other an alt. If you enjoy playing them both, then I would just call them characters. You donât have to declare one character your main, or relegate any of them to âaltâ status. They can all just be characters.
I have 65 characters. I consider âmainâ to be the characters I am actively playing to a higher level. I currently would say I have 3. This Druid(an M+ toon), a Resto Shaman I do raiding and M+ on, and a Disc Priest I do raiding and M+ on. Or sometimes like in a guild I am in, they donât have any toon set as a main, theyâre all listed as âaltâ cause every season I change what I play lol.
Alt to me are toons I have, but not really playing/gearing or at least not often, maybe once in a blue moon if I am bored I login and do some Delves or something.
I do want to draw a line though, because if I donât, Iâll end up playing 7 characters weekly.
The last time I stopped having a character I labelled a main, I ended up playing 12-13 characters weekly.
The thing is I love both for different things. I LOVE Blood DK, but I am also a healer at heart.
im pushing 40 mains!
Very ambitious. I support this.
Its World of Warbands now! 2 is ok, 4 is better.
7 is optimum! 1 day of weeklies for each character.
Whoever has more quests completed is your main.
Why did you skip h, i, j, and k? Is it some joke where you say hi, jk?
i think a main character is one that you consistently play, especially with some form of progression in mind. with this working definition, you could have lots of them and why not?
I have often had a main in each role: tank, heals, dps.
last season, I tried to do all that with one toon - a druid. But I didnât like druid heals and I sucked at cat (not a fan of playing space chicken)
this season, I have pretty much only focused on one toon, my VDH. there is a lot of time left in this season so I might start playing other toons also.
I kind of follow it Main, Main-ish, alts. This Hunter is my main who has the best gear, cash, achievements, etc. Depending on the expansion my main-ish varies. That is currently my WW Monk. The rest are played depending on time I have left and mood. I have lots of toons but only have time to actually play 4 at most.
