And another thing! My friend pointed out something which was, we get these two new CM’s that weren’t posting even 10% of what Ythisens was while he was here out of nowhere while he gets laid off. And on top of that, I had noticed they removed their profile pictures so that it’s just some WoW icon instead of a cool Yak, or Pug, tree, etc etc.
Is that so we don’t attached to them anymore? To make them more like the blank face we’re getting shown from blizzard anymore? Part of the charm of the CM’s was having some awesome unique portrait to remember them by. Now they’re just here to tell us “Hey we’re listening, but we don’t agree so we’re doing it anyways.”
There’s a million threads on the issue so I won’t beat it with a stick but it’s a small group of people out there doing old content where literally most people are not even touching anymore. Why punish them at this point instead of just adding a cool new portal room just to have a nice cleaned up one? I don’t get it. I’m kinda waiting for the hearthstones from new dalaran and the garrison hearthstone to be disabled after X level so that people have to travel to view the world more,etc, etc.
Can’t snap at a hand that wasn’t generally present. I appreciated all the scraps of responses we got from the prior CMs and I still appreciate responses that we get at all. But the disconnect from a profile and the type of responses being given in general don’t give us much of a chance to love on them like prior devs. And if they had anything to do with wow forums I would have seen more of them. It’s just weird.
The profiles on CMs reverted to just the WoW symbol as a result of the new forums, they mentioned it before. Pretty sure it’s just a very low priority issue for them to fix.

Same thing happend on the Hots forums when they also swapped to the new forums. Which as far as I know hasnt been fixed over there either.
Is it possible that they can’t set custom avatars in this forum software? It has been noted that Blizzard did not crate this themselves and certain features of the old forums could not be carried over to here.
They’re not devs, they’re CMs. There is a large difference. And there was a lot of hate for many of the things Yth posted, as well. Perspective gets skewed.
It’s a change in pacing, along with many other things, but it’s a small detail that bothers me. It’s bothered me for a while, along with all these changes the company has made and the changes with my favorite people leaving and the current leadership doesn’t feel great. My boat time runs out the 30th so I’ll get like two weeks with my kul tiran race change to see how it feels or if anything feels exciting anymore. But for someone who read the forums a lot for the past 14 years or so, it feels and has felt dramatically different this last year or two by comparison and I’m usually overly optimistic about all things blizzard.
Ah, yeah, I just use that word in general, but I know the people posting aren’t the people forcing changes in the game or things like that. I posted about it when the forums first changed over, and it’s a small thing with the profiles really but it felt defining. I’ve seen so many people leave this company over time but I always remembered them by their name and whatever their profile was.
There’s no need to scrape the barrel with the recent state of things, but it’s something that’s bothered me for a while and since I’ve cancelled my subscription I figured I’d voice an opinion on the way out the door. And maybe I’ll see it change in the blue tracker I’ll inevitably check every week or so but I kinda doubt it
Their job encompasses a lot of different things. Forum monitoring is a small part they said. They write all the announcement type threads, patch notes and a lot of outside community liaison stuff. They’re not here to be our friends and gossip buddies. It’s kinda like a celebrity sightings that forum goers go a little nuts when there’s a blue post about anything. Every human interest type post gets harped on by the “we don’t care what ice cream you like, fix our real problems nao” morons who have no idea what CMs do.
But yesterday we found a summoning trick for one of them. Pretty funny stuff.
If they’re not posting, they’re doing other behind the scenes stuff. I’m sure they’re busy with 8.1.5 coming next week.
