Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, here I am

also players should know there’s more than one successful strat but if people are doing multiple strats it usually fails

Also generally true. Premades can switch strats fast but pug games are often decided when the gates open and you see if they split.

it’s called Merc Mode …

we know what merc is ya waffle

I remember back in Wrath I only found out about the guns when I followed someone out of curiosity, but in strands it was tough getting people to man the guns even when you asked them before the instance started. Some explained they wanted to play their character instead of a vehicle. It was rough trying to run past them to teleport to the other side of the wall without getting stunned so I could get to the guns.

I told my friend, who also didn’t know about the guns. Before that in WG we roamed trying to take over or workshops and tried to kill siege equipment manually. Someone would call when the wall dropped and we’d run back. I also didn’t know about making siege equipment and later was confused when I couldn’t make it. This one time I went into an enemy workshop and tried to talk to the guy who wouldn’t talk back and I knew if I stayed he would eventually talk to me but for some reason enemy players kept attacking. WG was my first BG.

There’s things I didn’t learn myself until someone showed me or I accidentally saw, even after hundreds of thousands of kills. I’m still learning things. And things change. Some stuff I still keep to myself because I play both sides and knowledge is power.

But some stuff is not worth copying so you have to be careful. Like in AV when Alliance kills Galv at the beginning. That’s like shutting off your engine at the beginning of a race. Today’s AV strat is a race to destroy at least 2 towers and kill the boss, speed is value. Galv is quicksand, don’t copy that.

I just followed the crowd in AV until I got used to things. I play both sides as well and I will propose strategies based on my experiences but people usually don’t listen unless things are going bad but not too bad where they give up. I tried forming back cap groups but they fell apart after 1 tower, I’d hate AV if it weren’t for the epic team battles.

that’s crazy. ive found most players from azralon are not only terrible at pvp but rarely speak english. did you translate that from portugese?

“clowns to the left of me jajas to the right here i am, stuck in the bg with tu”

I like that one tbh “BUILD TRUCKS” is what players need to hear as I point out 6/20 via the upper text.

Yeah, that’s why I don’t say anything. I usually sort the board by honor rank to get an idea how experienced the raid is. If we have a bunch of 500+ or even really 100+ then I assume we have some experience. The higher ranks usually don’t say a word, they just do their thing and keep us afloat. Your 500+ players usually know every trick in the book and you don’t need to worry about whatever they’re doing. They probably don’t want you to know what it is anyway.

I’ve seen “build cars” but not “build trucks”. Either way it’s odd.

Usually the people who care just yell “build” or “build max”. Or if there’s an experienced lead they’ll say to drown what we don’t need and build what we do need.

Which “trucks” work for the best purposes in Wintergrasp?

Did you say it was an exploit ? pancake…

idk he just kept saying trucks and I never heard that let alone see it spammed throughout an entire bg

Haha I guess Trucks, Tanks, Build Build! all works.
I had a legitimate question regarding the vehicles in Wintergrasp, which I was hoping one of the Epic heads here could fill in with.

Which Vehicles are best suited for which situation? Strengths, Weaknesses. etc.

Despite what others may say… sieges are the best for both the walls and towers. But it really helps if other players get inside the siege and use the cannon and flame throwers. So that’s a tip, if you see a siege, get inside and make it even more powerful by giving it some long-range fire power as well as protection. Sieges are good, but best with a crew.

As for cannons, taking those out is best with long range demos. Catapults are best for clearing out players with fire. If the area is well guarded by other vehicles and players, demos are good for helping gain some ground and do some damage from further away.

For taking down vehicles, nothing is better than the personal rockets you can grab and use. They do heavy damage on all vehicles, especially sieges.

*Catapult - high dmg on people, little on structure — quick, mobile, spammable dmg on players

*Demos - high dmg on people, medium on structure — medium movement, harder to kill than catapult, can seat more players to cast/peel players attacking the vehicle.

*Siege - low dmg on people, high dmg on structure — slow, sluggish, easy target to kill, has a gunner seat to fire cannons at people/structure but low to medium dmg.

Catapults - players. Just spam 2 for the melee range flamethrower. Drown it in water to switch to a demo.

Demos - walls and towers. You can lob artillery from max range to hit walls and towers… and other stuff. Spam both keys in melee range. Players can ride as passengers and can’t be interrupted when using ranged spells or RPGs. Also can fire over walls to hit… other stuff. Demos are where it’s at. Learn to aim it, even if you can’t see… the other stuff that it’s hitting. Over the walls.

Siege Engine. Looks more useful that it is. Can only do melee range so it gets taken out pretty easy before it ever gets close enough to do anything. Best when it can be defended or when rushing in a huge group all the way to the target.

Almost forgot – RPGs. Sleeper tools. Always grab one, has 5 shots. Doesn’t need Line-of-Sight, just needs to be in range. Can fire through trees and hills, but not through walls. Only takes 3 shots to kill a demo, so fire off 3 and aim at something else. Can be fired from the backseat of a demo and can’t be interrupted. One player, especially a druid or rogue, with RPGs can defend walls for a while, just keep going back for more.

Holy crap another DAoC player? Never thought I’d see that again. I used to think the same way and really wanted to love EBGs, but 90% of the time for some reason i’m always on the losing side and it just gets to be not fun anymore. In fact I’ve been noticing that’s a thing no matter what kind of pvp content i try to do in this expansion
