I see CM weapons all the time so I dunno where you are getting that people that got it don’t play anymore. I also use mine occasionally, unless I don’t actually exist and am just a bot? Who knows.

I know they will keep being put in games to drive players to pay subs or buy store mounts or whatever but trust me I understand.
what is the difference if it is a limited item, its ok because one has a dollar value. what if they put a dollar value on mage tower trans-mogs that will make it alright?

Because gating that is not based around your ability to enter card information, but around your skill as a player. Your RL advantages should carry zero weight into in-game advantages.

In case there is any confusion I am pro locking things that advertised as limited away, my advice get on the train next time. Yes there were a lot of mage tower unlocks that I didn’t get

Because “having had to be there” is prestige in a game like WoW where the power-curve of players isn’t dissimilar to an anime protagonists.
Lets be real. Nobody now cares if you’re rocking Heroic T10 now since the Lich King went from the hardest boss in the game to something that dies in a single GCD.
Nobody cares whether your achievement for killing H LK is from 2009 or 2019.
But people do care if you got something shiny out of it that cannot be gotten again.
If they didn’t, these threads on CM’s or Mage Tower wouldn’t exist.
