Cloudsong Glaive?

When will this item be made available again, or a recolor?? Best looking polearm in the game, and sadly, a lot of new players missed out.

Never.

Thank you for attending my TED talk.

Probably never.

Never, because it, and the other Challenge Mode weapons, were rewards from a game mode that is long gone, and adding a recolor of any of them would cheapen their prestige just as much as bringing the originals back would. It’s just a weapon, not something like the Mage Tower druid appearances, where druids who didn’t play during Legion were locked out of entire barber options.

I don’t understand the reasoning behind prestige status preventing this item from becoming available again, particularly when other previously prestigious items have already been reintroduced in some form. For example, mounts such as the AH Brutosaur reskin or even the spectral tiger reskin, and legacy rewards like Tier 3 armor or Mage Tower armor have, at different points, been made obtainable again. This raises the question of why a similar approach could not be applied here.

Additionally, considering that the WoW development team has historically reused existing models and assets—often due to coding constraints—it seems reasonable that a recolored or slightly modified variant could be introduced without undermining the original item’s prestige. Implementing a recolor would allow players another avenue to enjoy the design while still preserving the exclusivity of the original version.

Hopefully one day; or at least a recolor :frowning:

One of my favorite polearms as well, loved my guild at the time, but we only did up to Silver (not Gold) because it was very feasible and gave the mount.

Given current Blizzard I don’t want to say it’s impossible, but just as MoP challenge sets, after 5-6 expansions the hope mostly dies. If I knew it would translate to retail then 100% would try these Classic era servers to get the challenge sets; best part is I think the Ilvl is set to like Heroic Dungeon level (possibly very wrong) so it’s not like it would be the worst activity with some friends.

Most likely never, find something else that you can use instead for your xmogs.
There are plenty other nice looking items to use instead.

Those CM armour sets and weapons from MoP/WoD are something of a trophy for playing at the time. You might not see a reason to keep them limited but that’s the only reason you want them because you cannot have them.

The idea that these items must remain permanently unobtainable purely because they served as a “trophy for playing at the time” is not entirely consistent with how similar prestige rewards have been handled throughout the game’s history. There are already multiple examples where items that were once considered exclusive or symbolic of a particular era were later reintroduced in some form.

A practical solution would be the introduction of recolored or slightly modified variants of the original Challenge Mode armor sets and weapons. This approach would preserve the prestige of the original versions—those would still represent players who completed the content during its original window—while giving the broader player base an opportunity to enjoy the design. Similar to how Blizzard released Void Tier 2 and Tier 2 Anniversary recolors.

Ultimately, the request isn’t about diminishing the accomplishment of players who earned the originals; it’s about recognizing that many iconic designs in the game’s history can be celebrated by more of the player base without erasing their legacy. A recolor or variant would respect both perspectives: preserving the original trophy while acknowledging the ongoing interest in some of the game’s most memorable cosmetic designs.

Let’s be real. The request is so you can get something you otherwise cannot have.

No, a recolor disproportionately benefits the have-nots. The unique and detailed model is the major design attraction, not the color scheme.

If you weren’t around to support the game when these were advertised as time limited, why should you get them now?

The claim that a recolor “disproportionately benefits the have-nots” assumes that exclusivity must be absolute in order to remain meaningful. However, throughout the game’s history, the developers have demonstrated a willingness to balance legacy prestige with broader accessibility. When legacy rewards have returned in altered forms, the original versions have not lost their identity; they remain a clear indicator of participation during a specific era of the game.

It’s also worth considering that the argument about “supporting the game at the time” doesn’t fully reflect how a long-running MMO evolves. Many current players did not have the opportunity to play during earlier expansions, yet they still contribute to the health and longevity of the game today. Allowing new or modified variants of iconic designs gives those players a chance to engage with the game’s visual history without rewriting or diminishing the achievements of those who earned the originals.

Such as? If you’re going to try to pass off tier sets as being equivalent to challenge modes then you’re not being genuine.

Tough. They can earn the stuff that is available today.

I dont see any reason why the policy should be changed. Request denied.

None of that is Challenge Mode PvE rewards.

MT appearances are weapon appearances and have never returned.

It’s possible to do that. But it’ll be highly modified.

These comments don’t actually engage with the reasoning presented. It doesn’t address the examples of previously reintroduced rewards, the suggestion of recolors as a compromise, or the broader discussion around prestige versus accessibility. Instead, it simply shuts the door on the topic with “I don’t see any reason why the policy should be changed,” without explaining why.

If the goal is a productive discussion, it helps to approach the topic with a bit more openness and substance. Explaining your reasoning or addressing the points raised would contribute far more to the conversation than a blunt dismissal.

There is nothing productive about this discussion at all.

Blizzard said multiple times “No.”

So what else is there to even say on the topic? You will be dismissed and people will be blunt to you because it’s already had the two letter answer of “No”.

Put your big boy pants on and make another xmog that includes items you can obtain instead.

I should be rewarded for not supporting WoD.

They did. You just didnt like my responses.

Already addressed. Tier sets can always be farmed later on. The one exception was original T3 and those werent advertised as being challenge mode limited time available. It was just a consequence of no one being able to do naxx back in the day.

Brutosaur was a gold sink turned cash shop item. Nothing to do with prestige.

The spectral tiger update looks nothing like the originals and people still whine about wanting the originals to come back. Besides, that was a TCG thing, not a cosmetic earned in game.

I already told you it’s not about the color scheme. The model is the desired part and a recolor is by no means a compromise, it’s you getting what you want at the expense of those who earned it. Any compromise would involve a significant model change as well to make the new items less detailed.

Again, explained in any of the 3 million whiny threads. These were advertised as limited time. They were designed to reward people for supporting the game at the time. Blizzard has repeatedly said no.

It’s not my job to justify the status quo. It’s your job to make a compelling argument that isnt just “I want it”.

Ret pallies and BM hunters exist to cover this.

Their prestige can be cheapened to dirt for all I care. They look cool and should be available without access to time travel.

The skyyyyy would fallll

I want things I don’t have

Never, those of us that have it would like to keep it untainted and as a reminder of a time long past and the adventures with the friends we had to get it. I also took a break and I fully respect that the 6 years I left retail for classic many amazing things came and went that I can never get my hands on…that’s okay!!

I have all the WoD CM weps, but you can look at the cloudsong glaive anytime you want on my paladins armory
