How do cloud serpents fit into dragonflight, if they could. Being dragons and all, it would be interesting to see how they fit into the story line.
They’re not related to the common azerothian dragon, aka the focus of this expac.
It would however be neat to shine a spotlight on them to show off draconic evolution coming from different lines.

They’re more like cousins to the titan pantheon dragons.
Shame tho. Would be neat to see serpent racers from Pandaria hanging out with other npc racers
They are serpents, not dragons.
then why are they in the dragon area of hunter pets? before dragonflight they were in the serpent category (Cunning) but with the new dragon category (Ferocity) they switched them.
if they are not dragons then I would like my favorite pets back.

Yeah, they are dragons. Just not your typical Azerothian drake. They are similar though in the sense that some of them are sentient, while others are more feral and need to be tamed.
They’re related/descendants of Yu’lon, which are moreso offshoots of dragons.
They’re tangentially related, I assume.
It would be cool if Yu’lon and a bunch of Cloud Serpents came to Valdrakken and was like “What the f***, why didn’t you call us, Alex?”
