Why? Why am I getting cloaks from my fancy boxes in 11.2… it can’t be that hard to turn that off.

They had said something about having removed cloaks from the drop tables. Which drop tables seems to be up for debate though

The transmog of the item should drop along regular loot.

Probably all the low level drop tables you would encounter before you get your hero cloak, when a cloak might be of some use.

yeah, except I’m getting em out of my fancy chests for weekly activities. It’s super disappointing to get a cloak or a belt in one of my very limited chances at this nicer gear level.

I watched a guildie get 4 cloaks and 3 belts between the delves we ran and the chests/timewalking drops. Literally 2 cloak drops in the timewalking raid alone.
Now, while I can sort of understand Timewalking raid dropping them because people can run TW sub 80, I can’t really accept that delve and the rest of the caches dropping them is a great idea.
It feels like the whole “removed from loot table” bit was a massive lie. They removed them from dungeons and vault. Nothing else.

Belts are fine. Its like the ring. Some specs keep the DISC belt forever, some drop it at like 710 ilvl. So we need belt drops.
But yeah, cloaks shouldnt drop right now, not from current season max level content.

I’m rather enjoying it. Making some gold collecting appearances.
They weren’t lying, they just missed some…and this is expected because it’s more work than you’d think. There are so many loot tables and loot sources that are used, reused, and shared across many content forms. It would be easy if they wanted to remove cloaks and belts altogether…but they just want to do it for max level players. Why is the go to explanation always malice or laziness and not “maybe it’s more difficult than I thought?”.

hehe, I ran the timewalking raid and someone got 3 cloaks, oh man the bad luck.
I’m fine with stuff slipping by, but in the S3 boxes… that feels like a pretty obvious place that wouldn’t get overlooked.

not everyone has a cloak and belt - I will have the cloak on my alts because easy to pick up but I never got the belt on most of my alts.
While they are at it, maybe give us new season gear schematics if they exist, or don’t give me only a schematic for a profession I don’t have and old season gear as my “reward” for an M2 chest.
Can confirm they havent removed cloaks from TW raids or the hero crate.

Maybe, but those boxes probably don’t have their own loot table, they probably reference a shared loot table that half a dozen other things use. They could be drawing from a source that got overlooked or maybe they just forgot to write an exception. The gear in those boxes quickly gets outpaced anyway, so they probably prioritized places where it would feel the worst…but I’m just saying removing belts/cloaks just for max level players isn’t a quick thing where you can just uncheck a box.
Yeah I got several cloaks right after getting my reshii wrap as well.
