Cloak of Shadows

Imagine not understanding you can’t stealth if you have dots on you.

Imagine having a weakness to your strength in an RPG. Crazy right?

Imagine not understanding this version of the game changes everything in PVP and rogue stealth is almost useless now.

Go press your chain lightning button and drool and leave us alone.

There’s a very good chance rogues will have Cloak of Win sometime during SoD, and it will more than likely be on a new slot.
Just saying…

Rogue tears :ocean: :ocean: :ocean: :ocean: :ocean: :ocean: :ocean: :ocean: :ocean:

there’s always WoTLK Classic for when you need Evasion (x2), Sprint (x2), Vanish (x2), Blind (x2), Shadowstep, Cloak of Shadows, Cheat Death, and 20% Armor Penetration to win a 1v1.

Please, with their track record, they’ll put it on a skill book.

Mutilate does +20% increased dmg when behind the target (assuming they spec into opportunity, which they will), so you still want to avoid giving rogues your back. TBH Ive been playing backstab since OG and never had a problem getting behind people.

Edit: I wont judge other rogues, the skill level can vary

If rogues get cloak of shadows then every other class deserves runes that counter rogues, theyre already extremely strong now.
Give me a rune that deflects rogue stuns back onto the rogue and you can have cloak.

Wouldn’t be surprised if you get Unending Resolve or something similar by final phase.

That does nothing when rogues can kill you before their stun runs out and especially if they get cloak, whats the use in no spell pushback if your spells cant hurt the rogue.
When the meta is casters spamming instant cast abilities locks needed unending resolve this phase.

They could give you the WoD version which provides 50% dmg reduction in additon to the pushback & interrupt immunity.

people complain if the rogue literally has the ability to kill something. so thats pretty low bar in terms of metric.

No. Wait wait lemme just check again… yea still no.

No they added Cloak of Skill because most rogues were so garbage at playing their class they needed an ability to properly restealth. Good rogues consistently and regularly manage stealth in fights with dots all the time. Bad rogues beg for broken abilities because they can’t be bothered to learn their class.

Must be real hard to time a 3 second damage tick that is unaffected by haste.

They added it because of Arena.

Fixed it for you. Again, it was absolutely added to make it easier for rogues to do what was already common, proper restealth and reopen.

Rogues can already time their vanish, combat drop stealth, etc with the dot ticks in their current form. Players now are WAY better than the ones in 2006. We also have way less of the bugs and issues from then.

Remember when vanish made you immune to damage for a few seconds and wouldn’t cause stealth to break because they couldn’t get spell batching + vanish to ever work properly for like 8 years? I do. A lot of these older abilities are products of their time in more ways than one. And are not needed in a SoD variant of the game. CoS was the single worst designed ability rogues got next to Recuperate.

Its not just about dots or resets. Its was created to give rogues a defensive cooldown to use vs casters in a competitive arena setting. It was one of a handul of defensive cooldowns added in TBC for Arena balance purposes.

It was created as a stop gap for the vanish issues for arena and to give lower skill rogues an out. It was USED as a broken caster cooldown. Rogues don’t need it. Get over it.

Rogues are so used to being able to control fights from start to finish they forge they aren’t the most important person in the world. Our rogue stays with the team, uses his cc to support the group, and has absolutely no issues in PVP.

The rogues crying the most for CoS are the ones losing 1v1 to casters.
