Clique Hovercast?

Hi all,

Just have a quick dumb question regarding the addon Clique.

I’m very satisfied with what it is and its features, but came up with a question: what does this “hovercast” option do?

I first thought it was a mouseover functionality, but mouseover feature already works without the hovercast option when healing.

So basically, I do not see any difference of having the hovercast option on and off. Is there a different functionality of this that I didn’t catch? Should I have it set on for healing or no?

Hovercast turns the binding into what a standard mouseover macro does. Meaning it will work both as a binding over a frame and a unit model.

By default a clique binding will only work over frames and not over models.

The importance is if you re-use the same keybind for multiple functions you might not want hovercast so you don’t accidentally cast the wrong spell if your cursor is off your frames but happens to be over a player model. IE: if I bound mouse button 5 to flash heal and mind blast I might only want it to be flash heal over a frame and not over a model so I’d just bind it as flash heal in the default way and not make it a hovercast.

You might want it to be hovercast in situations where you want to cast on an NPC without having to target it since you don’t have a frame for it, or some people just prefer to be able to mouseover cast on a model in WPvP or whatever. Sometimes being able to hovercast a CC ability so you can re-apply a CC without changing targets could also be something some people do.
