Client side Tmog toggle

We got another atrocious onesie for the game.
I’m sure some love it and that’s great.

I think it’s more trash for the Tmog trash pile that keeps getting bigger and unfortunately, more frequently.

I’ve seen the idea of a client side Tmog toggle before and I think it would be excellent to see this implemented.

A toggle to turn off tmogs for client side only, this would effect no one besides the user using the toggle much like the super important arachnophobia toggle we just got.

Who else would be interested in something like this?

Nope. You’ll see the onesie and you’ll enjoy it! Just look away if it’s that big of an eye sore.

I’m sure a lot of people would be. Personally, I think it’s a bad idea. The whole point of an MMO is to see and interact with others. If everyone can just turn everyone else into whatever they want then that puts a huge damper on the social aspect of the game. I agree that many mogs are so ugly and/or stupid it makes me want to throw my head through a wall. But one of the beautiful things about mogs is that it gives us variety in the world. People always claim they want diversity. Well ugly comes with that diversity. And if everyone can just turn off everyone elses look then what’s the point in diversity?

Also, they should add a way to turn off people client side, also turn off NPCs, also turn off mounts and etc. Why not turn WoW in a RPG single player? C’mon tmog is just a big part of the game and you just wanna it to be turn irrelevant?

hey op if you do this your own mogs will be removed also so be careful what you ask for

There are 2 toys now that sort of do that. If the OP really doesn’t want to see transmogs they can turn everyone into Corgies or floating hearts.

I play on a RP server and we take our mog game seriously. What is this onesie everyone speaks of?

Transmog is just like fashion in the real world. You don’t get to choose what other people wear. It’s part of their identity and personality.

If I’m feeling fun and silly and wish to show that off with my mog, then learn to smile and be happy, instead of grumpy and negative.

Spread positivity and acceptance.

New store mog. Its a murlock onesie.

Sounds like a non-RP server problem to me!

This looks absolutely ridiculous and I must have it.

I appreciate your well worded reply and I think it’s a good perspective to see from.

I obviously knew I’d get the," you have to see me and like it responses" from most so this is very nice.

For the sake of discussion, I don’t see how this would make much difference compared to all the other QoL changes that have come to make the game less social. Some people think dungeon finder and LFR have already destroyed the social aspect of the game.
I also don’t see how this would be too different from the arachnophobia toggle that changes things client side.

Because changing an NPC is not the same as changing a player character.

As someone pointed out, we already have toys that make characters disappear completely, isnt that preventing players from looking how they want to others?

I don’t see how this is different from the client side arachnophobia toggle.

This would in no way effect how you see your toon.

Nooo, the RP servers!

This would only be a change for the player using the toggle, you could still dress how you wish, I’m not looking to take that away from anyone.

I just think more choices is a good thing

Not permanently. Toys are short term effects.

Irrelevant. Read my first post in here again.

What makes it “irrelevant” ?

This would be a CHOICE blizzard could implement.
You would not have to use it.

It wouldn’t change anything for you, just the people who want it.
I don’t see that as a negative.

I am one of those people. I know I am going to loose more and more of it as time goes on. ‘It is the price of progress’, as they say. My objective is to conserve as much of it as possible as long as possible. I don’t always live up to my standards (no1 does), but on the whole I would like to see as little destruction of the social end of the game as possible. Even as a mostly solo/duo player I still want to the world to exist around me as a living breathing thing and one that I can interact with and influence (ie - I can mog and go out into the world and other’s will see it and react to it). Otherwise I would just go play a true solo console RPG.

I agree and I don’t think it should be a thing. Allowing others to change the world in which we all exist, b/c they don’t like some singular aspect of it, cheapens the experience of everyone else. Even if everyone else can’t see the changes being made.

We all like to pretend that we are atomized individuals floating around in space. It just makes life easier. But we aren’t. We exist in a society with other people. And everything we do and say affects others in ways we can’t see or understand.

Don’t think I could cringe harder. But just like the yeti one, the meme will wear off in a few months and barely anyone will use it.

I don’t think the ops idea for turning off mogs client side is worth doing.
