The client is broken. I’ve heard reports of others having “infinite scanning or initialization” issues, but nothing quite like mine. My game won’t update. It scans, or initializes, or begins download, but EVERY single time, I get some error message that’s out of my control… “Something broke, try again” or “Somethings wrong with a file, try again”, or “something went wrong this is an internal issue”. Going on 24 hours of not being able to play, because the client won’t do anything significant. Tried deleting literally everything even remotely related to the game, and reinstalling to no avail. Are the Dev’s quiet on this one?
I am having the same issue since yesterday morning. I am curious to the solution. This post is the first thing I have found regarding the issue. I have rebooted several times, tried to uninstall and am scanning fo the 1000th time.
I have the same issue.
When initializing, it gets to 55%, then displays an error message that it can’t access a file.
Mine just keeps trying to download an update stuck on 57%
Yeah I haven’t found any others regarding this issue so figured I’d start one. Glad I’m not the only one. This is getting ridiculous and an endless cycle of “try again”
I went in the drive and manually deleted the folder that WOW was located. It has allowed me to reinstall the game. I have reached a point of the install that I can play the game. I backed out and I am completing the remainder of the install before trying again. So far this seems to work.
I am not sure if it is part of the problem but - My WoW folder was in the same folder as my CoD Warzone. I deleted it all since I do not even play that cheat infested game anymore. I am wondering if that had anything to do with the files being corrupted. Perhaps the latest updates to Warzone was not allowing WoW to properly execute? Don’t know - just know that by manually deleting the folder it allowed me to reinstall instead of looping a scan.
Yeah. Updated to Mac OS 13.0 a few days ago. I was able to run updates until this morning. Now I get “We couldn’t access a folder. This is usually because you’re not logged in as an administrator.” I’ve tried restarting the client, and my computer. Neither fixed the issue.
exactly my problem
Poked around settings, and enabled “Full Disk Access” for Battle.Net. And even THAT didn’t fix whatever permission issue may be happening. (Yes, restarted Battle.Net after enabling that.)
I did the same thing with Full Disk Access. Did everything I could think of to make sure it wasn’t an issue on my end. It might have to do with 13.0.1 Ventura. Dragonflight system requirements say MacOS 12 is the latest version
It’s definitely a Mac issue tho, cuz I’m already downloaded and playing on my old crappy Lenovo Yoga Laptop at 30 fps
This just worked for me: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/en/wow/t/wow-wont-update/1407297/4
