Clicking "need" in raids resulting in no roll?

This is happening often, where a greed or need roll results in… nothing. No roll, no number, it’s as if I just hit pass.

Why does this happen

You didn’t hit the button hard enough.

You REALLY have to want it.

I noticed this is happening to me, too. I thought I just didn’t see the roll but it seems like it registers as a pass. My name didn’t even pop up on the roll list.

There are two rounds of rolls: Current spec and off spec in that order.

You can hit need for off spec items. For the first round of rolls (those that need on current spec gear) your roll appears as a “pass” in the UI if you rolled off-spec.

If nobody rolls need who is current spec for the item, the rolls then proceed to those who rolled for off-spec.

Its an offspec item.

If your loot spec is set to “Arms” and a shield drops you can hit need but it rolls need as offspec. If anyone rolls need as mainspec for the sheild they will win

Thats because its an offspec roll and people who are main spec rolling have priority
