Clickers & Keyboard Turners - Assemble?!

On another thread on this forum about WoW Sins I confess I was a clicker (all the time) and a keyboard turner (most of the time).
This was true in vanilla, tbc and wotlk (the last expansions I can consider myself a true raider) I used to have a lot of macros and keybounds and did not click or kt but after WotLK I never did anything else seriously because life hit like a truck and I became what I had sworn to destroy, a filthy casual.
RL keeps punching and after years (paying the sub but not really playing) I finally start to have more free time in my hands, so, here I am and I noticed it never occured to me I was, back again, clicking and kting.
Started playing the game I was 24 now I am 45.
So yeah… wondering if there are more ppl like me out there.

No shame, just happyness!

I don’t know how warranted clicker hate even is. I know a parse-obsessed mythic raider who clicks most of his abilities. Seems to be working out fine for him!

This one is probably down to how ergonomic you can make your UI to fit the need.

Keyboard turning, though? What, are you a german tank?

I find mouse turning really throws off the groove (and more importantly turns too much). But then I also can’t use a controller well because it means moving the camera independently, so maybe I’m the problem.

I am a clicker but I use a mouse with buttons on the side to help with that now.

Give this about 2 years for said keyboard turners and clickers to manage to click their way into this thread and finger peck their keys to reply.

He’d be playing miles better if he didn’t click.

Now is he an entry level mythic raider or is he pushing ce?

While not I….

I have a friend who predominantly clicks. They do rather well actually!

Between being an altaholic and not participating in any activity where fractions of a second are meaningful, I remain clicker and a mouse turner. Keyboards are for moving forward and typing messages.

As long you click within the GCD there is no difference in 99 percent of the cases, the other 1 percent is usually when other things are happening nonstop.

Strafing is a good ability to master though regardless if you click or not

I follow outsidexbox, and on a recent list video where they talk about sad backstories of villains, Jane mentioned clicking her abilities enough where it caused her to buy a new mouse. I had to pause the video and back up to that because I swore I misheard her. But, she did say she “clicked” her way though WotLK, and I still respect the woman, but was immensely surprised.

I strafe! I just do it with A and D + right mouse button <.<

100% false.

100 percent true as a healer.

Oh wait sorry 99 percent true. You’re welcome to elaborate though.

Keyboard turning is so much slower. There’s a reason why high end guilds require people to send screenshots of their ui.

That’s why you strafe but we’re not talking about keyboard turning yet rather clicking.

My partner was having a rough time in dungeons so I helped them find a handful of additional key bindings. They’re doing much better now.

I feel sympathetic for folks who rather click. This isn’t the game for it as far as end-game goes. Delves might be just fine with the right class but I do wonder what the death ratio is like in there. Being able to react is a must in WoW’s content.

PVP is the only end game I would suggest people learn how to keybind for every skill level.
