Click to move bots

Maybe things have changed but from my understanding based on research I’ve done and stories I’ve heard from others.

Almost all bots use the feature: click to move.

Now it would probably be safe to say that 90%+ of legitimate players DO NOT use this feature. However, I do understand that people with disabilities and other situations do use the feature albeit a small percent of the player base.

Also, if blizzard can detect 3rd party software/hardware that multiboxers use, what is so different about the bot software that they are unable to detect?

Why is it so hard for them to identify and remove bots, that they have to go about it in some roundabout backwoods way of thinking instead of a direct way like, if you use “ insert bot software name” you will be banned.

Like compile a list of all accounts that use “click to move” and then check if they are running third party software right? Why isn’t it that easy?

The Multibox software is freely available and Blizzard can get the program and analyse it to build a detection method.

Bots mostly use homebrew scripts and programs that Blizzard does not have access to or are able to analyse, plus the botters can modify or change their code quickly to circumvent detection.

Blizzard is under strict regulations that prevent them from being able to fully interrogate your PC and see what you are running. It is a privacy thing, it is none of Blizzard’s business what other applications I may be running on my PC.
