how does it work in PVP?
When you cast it on a friendly target, it removes all Disease and Posion effects from the target.
If you are Holy, it will also remove all Magic effects, as well.
If you are unsure as to what an ability is classified as, simply hover over the debuff and it will tell you.
Magic effects usually includes non-physical CCs. Such as Fear, Polymorph, or Hammer of Justice. Though other abilities can count as Magic as well, such as Mage debuffs.
Diseases generally includes the debuffs that Death Knights apply.
And Posions generally include Rogue debuffs, especially Assassination’s, as well as some Hunter debuffs, particularly their Stings.

Also each type of effect has a determined color around its icon as a debuff.
Purple is curse,
Light blue is magic,
Red is physical,
Green is poison,
White/Pinkish is Disease

I use the add on decursive. It greatly simplifies the logistics and you dont need to worry about what buff it works on. The add on does it all for you and the UI is very well designed IMO. I main holy but i use it for all 3 specs. … and on my mage alt.
“Cleanses a friendly target, removing all poison and Disease effects.” Now yes that description is extremely vague, so Ill explain a little bit. It removes Poisons and diseases from a friendly target.
