I keep seeing all these posts talking about World of Warcraft coming to Xbox and console. These are incorrect and it’s important to clarify what’s actually happening. Xbox collabed with ROG to make a PC version of the Nintendo switch two. You can’t even play your Xbox games on this handheld device. We don’t even really know yet if you’ll be able to play World of Warcraft on this handheld device. However, for anyone who’s been confused lately and trying to figure out what this new device looks like here is a video all about it.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did because it was very informative. Even if it can play PC games I don’t know that enough people have gotten their hands on it to determine if they can play all games. It’s a $600 handheld Xbox controller shaped Nintendo switch two for PC.
Edit: I guess this really did kill the conversation. I would’ve thought for sure somebody would’ve run in here talking about how wow is still coming to consoles or something.
I wish there was a way to ask a mod to do it. I think there’s been a lot of misunderstanding and miscommunication over the last two weeks and this video pretty much clears up everything there is to know about this handheld device that is not an Xbox but rather a really nifty PC version of the Nintendo Switch two. I mean it ultimately can’t be an Xbox if you can’t play Xbox games on it and the only reason Xbox collaborated with ROG is because they are the gaming division for Microsoft.
that’s odd because I haven’t actually seen another post about the device stating this is what’s coming and not Xbox. I keep seeing the wow head posts talking about Microsoft, etc. But I don’t think I’ve seen a single thread where anyone has clarified what the device looks like or what it’s actual function is.
That same exact video has been posted at least twice in two different threads. We didn’t need another thread on this. People know. The only ones being disingenuous are the trolls who want to rile people up. And they’ve been shot down every time with this info.
yeah, there is definitely a difference between a handheld and a traditional Xbox console. I’m not even sure why they had Xbox partner with ROG since you won’t be able to play any Xbox games on it at least not conventionally. Will it run World of Warcraft? Probably would it be possible to key bind all of the buttons necessary on a handheld unit to make it work? Possibly but people are fighting the idea of even having to redo their UI just for midnight. I can’t imagine all of the time it would take to sit there and update key binds on a handheld device.
even if I remove every bit of the sound and cover his face with a at the end of the day, the only thing I needed to see was that this “console” was the PC version of a Nintendo switch two and not an actual Xbox that runs Xbox content. If I had the ability to simply post an image of the handheld device, I probably would’ve gone that route.
