Has anyone done the math to see how, exactly the clearcasting proc chance is handled?
As a recap, the ability text is
For each X mana you spend, you have a 1% chance to gain Clearcasting, making your next Arcane Missiles or Arcane Explosion free and channel 20% faster.
My question comes to if this is a repeated 1% chance roll or is the percentage summed based on the total mana cost of the ability used?
For some numbers: at level 55 the clearcasting mana threshold number I see is 154 mana. A 4 charge arcane blast costs 4,240 mana. 4240 / 154 = 27.53 and on. Does the game perform 27 1% chance rolls or is it a single 27.53% chance to proc clearcasting?
To give some more data. Playing with this at a training dummy seems to trigger once every approx 5/6 castings of AB “on average.” There is the rare 1 in 3 or even back to back cast that triggers the proc. Then there are droughts were you can exhaust the entire mana bar and not get a single one.
