You put a cooldown on cleanse so it could not be spammed. The second you did that there was zero need for cleanse protection, particularly to the scale of Affliction Warlocks. The double dipping in silence & half your HP in damage is ridiculous and needs to go.
Affliction warlocks and Shadow priests can manage their offensive cooldowns like everyone else and not just spam dots / cast it with zero fear of any mitigation other than opposition defensives.
the backlashes are annoying but it doesnt feel overly tuned. I particularly hate spriest dispell protection though.
the current dynamic introduces some expression of skill of when to dispell, such as risking dying due to a greedy dispell, timing your silence immunity, knowing what to dispell (i.e. haunt, soul rot, etc)
misterweaver also has the best tools imo to handle healing DOTs
Cleanse used to not have a cooldown and they put cleanse protection in during this design to help struggling DoT specs.
The second they put a cooldown on cleanse the cleanse protection needed to go.
That’s literally what I said in my opening post, did you even read it before you responded?
I’m saying leave cleanse how it is and remove cleanse protection.
Not true, I used to play affliction and it is literally the easiest caster to play in the game because nothing other than maybe a very good mistweaver can stop your damage.
They put a cd on cleanse because it used to only remove 1-2 debuffs, not an entire row of debuffs from an entire team. If they want to remove the cd sure, but then it would need to go back to only dispelling 1-2 debuffs at a time
dispel definitely should stay at 8 second cd, and there should still be some sort of dispel protection for important auras
but I think there is a good middle-ground to be met, I don’t think any dispel protection should silence or cc the dispeller, only some form of damage whether that be instant or a dot, or perhaps a moderate to low short term healing reduction, or even a knockback. but you should never lose the ability to press buttons, imho.
Doesn’t matter. The fact that there is a cooldown on it means they have to be strategic using it.
Based on that, why don’t you have to be strategic using your offensive cooldowns?
Every other DPS class has to be strategic.
