Cleaning up the Character Selection Screen

I think it would be nice to have a tab for Alliance and a tab for Horde on the character selection screen. This way you can organize your characters by faction easier. This will also help with the cluttered feel of the current Character selection screen. What are your opinions??

Not entirely the same thing, but FYI in case you didn’t know, you can drag the characters to reorder them, so you can at least group them by faction.

Make the character tabs smaller so they can all fit on 1 page without a scroll bar. Also finding a way to have all of your toons from different realms on one page would be awesome.

This is the biggest one for me. Sometimes I forget the characters below the scroll even exist.

Not really a solution if you already have toons, but I found that having 1 server dedicated to a faction greatly reduces search time and makes mailing things easier. For example, my alliance are on kel’thuzad and my horde are on deathwing. It’s also nice when you have many characters overall.

I’d rather have all of my characters from both factions on the same screen. I don’t want tabs. I don’t want scroll bars. Just make everything more compact and fit on one page. Put Alliance on one side and Horde on the other if you need separation.

Just sort them yourself with the up/down arrow

that I did know, but I still would like a separate tab for each faction. The is mainly because I would like to be able to see all my characters without scrolling through them all to find them. Also it would clean up the clutter look that the character screen has now.

This would be a nice feature

At least all characters from connected realms, without the loading screen inbetween. I’d rather have that than no scrolling. Just put the lists of characters next to each other.

Yep. That would be Amazing.

Playing on three servers at the moment because sometimes you can get the name you wanted on the sister server when it’s not available on your main server. Having a single indexed page of characters, and being able to sort them however, without needing to constantly load between server/server select pages would be nice.

well they could do away with the scroll bar. i got alts down there

I just sort mine by active/inactive. I only have one active Alliance, and I know which one she is, so no problems here.

What we have now is better than FF14, I changed mains but can’t seem to figure out how to move my main to the top

I really dislike the scroll bar. Any change that avoided that is good with me.

On the original question: what percentage of players play both factions on the same server? It might be a small percentage of players. If so, having separate faction tabs would give no benefit to most players.

And many players don’t want it: they would rather see all their characters at once. Why would they group them by faction? Maybe they prefer some other grouping.

Sure… Should only appear if you have both factions on the same server. My Horde and Alliance are on different servers altogether.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who does this! All my Horde are on Silvermoon where I’ve played since launch and when we merged with Mok’Nathal I decided to use it for Alliance so I wouldn’t be far from home.
