Class/spec that has the most APM/buttons and least?

Curious to see what people think is the most busy and the least busy.

Hmm. I feel that frost mage might be among the top 3 with the fewest buttons. At least the way I play mine.

I think prot pala is the highest apm spec? Cuz sotr.

It changes from patch to patch but usually Prot Warrior/Paladon and Outlaw Rogue are at the top, Devoker and all three Warlock specs are at the bottom.

I played some Frost Mage in SL and loved it but haven’t touched it since, might make one since I am on a new character journey with nothing but allied races

Outlaw has to be way up there, I’m playing one as an alt atm and I was very surprised at the amount of keyboard stabbing I have to do.

Most busy Ench shamny. Least would be Guarisan Druid?

Just pick a healer and its 0apm as the group carries you to victory

Most APM was prot pally and prot warrior last I checked, but I doubt prot warr is up near 80 apm now since their changes going into season 2. Maybe 65-70. Lowest apm is dev evoker and destro and demo warlock. Feral historically is pretty low too.

Frost Mage doesn’t have a ton of keybinds, but you absolutely must know how to shatter as that’s kind of the point of the spec. It’s not hard but if you are physically incapable of doing it for whatever reason (i.e. if you’re a pure clicker, I know there are some out there, it’s still possible but very clunky if you click) then it kind of kills the spec.

Fury Warrior, Ret Paladin, Destruction Warlock are all pretty easy to play as well without a ton of keybinds. Destruction feels extremely “slow” to play (in a good way, IMO) since you’re casting chunky Chaos Bolts as a major focal point of your rotation and it’s one of the longer cast time spells in the game.

The highest apm class is protpally and sunfury firemage the lowest is by far dev at like 39 apm when played properly kinda crazy to think its over half as many buttons per minute between the dev and those 2. But thats because of channeling is the main thing dev does.

All I could find on APM was from a year ago, so season 3 of DF I think? Obviously not accurate now, but enough to get an idea. Some of these likely have not changed much.

Hasn’t changed too much. Here’s a screenshot of a more recent list of APM ratings for each spec:

Does anyone think we just have too much of a button bloat?

Outlaw is up there, if not the highest, even post-button culling. 21 class keys I hit during pretty much every key, and 17 if you don’t coun’t CC and kicks. And that’s not running KiR, which would add 2 more buttons.

This data is frequently wrong with Outlaw, since simming doesn’t give accurate real-life proc scenarios where you can hit BTE 7-8 times without a generator. It’s good for an average, but my APM easily hits 100-110 in some fights where I hit good RNG and have to use defensives liberally.

I think some specs for sure. But high APM doesn’t = button bloat really. Like guardian druid has so few buttons that I can use an MMO mouse 1-12 and maybe like 5-6 keyboard key binds. That isn’t a lot, but guardian spams Ironfur, which is just one button, so their APM is like all from that almost.

DH attests to this.

It’s pretty high APM but very few buttons.
