Void elves at least the first generation were under the same/similar ritual and it got interrupted. Alleria was like one of the first of her kind to do that ritual to consume the heart of a dark naaru right. The others got a botched ritual and it resulted in different results.
Alleria is a void elf, she just doesn’t consider herself one. She can be seen as the first ideal one to control the void so well. Children of the void is all void elves are. She may not consider herself one but she is highly infused with void energies.
It is much like how kul tiran shamans don’t consider themselves shaman since that’s an orc word. They consider themselves tidesages.
Blizz also says that Alleria and Turalyon can touch each other. She only can’t do it when she’s in void form, and he gets hurt whenever she uses shadow magic/ entered the void rift. They can still have relations albeit when there powers aren’t manifested.
You forgot that half the races should never be DHs as well as Druids overall. Keep these restrictions Blizz. Better yet, just forget you said this so people can angrily ask for it over the next 5-10 years and still don’t ever put these in.
I disagree on Worgen, Orc, and Mag’har, imo those three would be fine as is.
I agree with you on VE and Undead though, but that could also be resolved by either adding a 4th Paladin spec that is Shadow themed (ie a Paladin equivalent to Shadow Priest) or adding Shadow themed Glyphs for the various Holy spells and abilities. If they did either of those than canonically all VE and Undead Paladins would be of the Shadow variety, but for gameplay purposes players would be able to use everything (just like VE and Undead Priests).
how can you make the argument that Void Elfs cant be Paladins when there’s both the fact that they can already be Priest and the fact that Priest themselves have a spec that allows them to channel both Light and Void. Balancing Light and Void doesnt result in “explosions” it results in discipline the name of the spec.
I don’t know about this one, at least for regular non-Lightforged Draenei. We already have races that have Warlocks but look down on them, like Humans. I doubt most Night Elves like Demon Hunters either, but they’re forced to accept them as allies.
I wonder if Lightforged Demon Hunters would have Light-themed visuals instead of Fel, kinda like how Lothraxion is a Light-themed Dread Lord. Might look kinda cool actually… and if the visuals implied that these Lightforged Demon Hunters used the Light instead of Fel, it might help with it fitting in lore-wise.
She’s the racial leader because she’s eaten a Dark Naaru and can control it, so she can tell these other people who haven’t eaten a Void Naaru how to control their void corruption. But that doesn’t make them the same thing.
That’s like saying Vol’jin’s an Orc cause he ran the Horde for awhile and sat around in Ogrimmar.
You don’t have a source for Void Elves exploding from using the light… The only source is Alleria being in pain in void form when interacting with Turalyon.
So, if we’re going to decide that our source is WoW chronicles and is going to be what happens when a ton of light and a ton of void collide, then to do that properly, we have to decide that void elves become alternate planes when interacting with the light. Cause that’s how it worked in WoW chronicles.
Yeah, it’s absurd, but you’re ignoring all the canon interactions anyways so why not?
Void Paladin - that is, they are Paladins of the Void. Say it with me - Void. Paladin. Wants it, Precious.
Being a Worgen does not make you evil, or make the Light unavailable to you. Its a perfectly reasonable option.
Orcs are also not shut off from the Light. And having green skin does not mean they are evil, it means they were once tainted but have since been cleansed.
About the only issue is Forsaken Paladins. It would be possible but they would need to do some sort of specialised quest to enable them to access the Light and be acceptable to it.
Then Vol’jin’s an Orc but just doesn’t consider himself one.
Fel Blood Elves aren’t Demon Hunters.
Mmm. Not really. That’s people using different nomenclature for different things.
A Naaru recreated the Sunwell. A Naaru let Blood Elves use the light. Alleria is way crazier than a Void Elf.
She’s basically like… High Elf Prometheus. But anyways, refer back to Felblood Elves and Demon Hunters. Which isn’t the same because Demon Hunters aren’t maybe deities.
There is always a point. If you want to show someone is not arguing in good faith, persist in your own reasons, and refute theirs without resorting to similarly unfounded reasons. Eventually they will trip over their own inconsistencies for everyone to see.
I’ve sparred with her many times and she really does not appreciate me pointing out that male and female nightelves had VERY different roles and abilities that were homogenized for Warcraft to turn from a RTS to a MMORPG.
According to the original warcraft lore, the men should not have shadowmeld. Should not be priests or warriors of any kind. That was the for the women blessed by their goddess. Conversely women should not be druids. It was the men who went to the Emerald Dream and instead of an affinity with Elune, gained affinity with the wild gods, particularly Cenarius.
Anyone playing a female druid and complaining about a shift in lore to create homogenization within the game is not speaking from a place of ideological integrity. From their own point of view, their favored character violates their own standard. It would be similar to me, as a worgen, saying new playable races should not be added to this game. If I start that conversation without validating my own existence first, and give my reason why the line should stop there, I’m intentionally hiding my own hypocrisy from people who might not know worgen were not added until Cataclysm. Similar to you probably didn’t know about this inconvenient detail with nightelves.
There is some argument void and light do not mix. They conveniently ignore that blood elves were chewing on fel but that didn’t react with their arcane affinity, even though the 2 are opposites. The fact is the lore is consistently inconsistent. And once where it was consistent, it was flat full out retconned simply to make a race prettier (draeni).
It is very much in the game. When asked if this clear kul tiran shaman was a shaman. She asked what’s a shaman? She considers herself a tidesage. But gameplay mechanics we may be flexible with the classes. As each race has there own names for similar things in there native language like tauren priests - oracles.
You’re make an argument about in group definitions.
A Tide Sage for all intents and purposes is a Shaman. They don’t consider themselves to be a Shaman.
You’re making the argument that Alleria is a Void Elf but doesn’t see herself as a Void Elf.
That’s not true.
Void Elves are Elves who were changed by a Void Ethereal.
Alleria’s a High Elf that ate a Naaru. Naaru’s are crazy powerful. It’s not the same thing.
She’s an Elf that can use the Void… and she joined the group, “Void Elves.” But that doesn’t mean that she is a Void Elf. At least, unless you want to get into another definition argument.
You do know there is at least one Undead Paladin the in Lore? Sir Zeliek
Originally there where no Undead Paladins because the original undead all died from the plague and Paladins where immune to it. With new ways to be raised like with the Val’kyr and the possible lightforged undead, we might see more of them. In fact the Void Elves are the only race who probably couldnt become Paladins due to the Void-Light conflict. All the other races while some having been touched by the other opposing cosmic forces dont draw power straight from them like the VE do, making paladinhood possible.
The only restrictions on Demon Hunters right now are from training. Illidan was the frist and only trained NE/BE. Theoretically any race could become a Demon Hunter with exception of the Lightforged and Void Elves, with them drawing power from incompatible sources .
