Everyone should know, there is currently an even amount of class/race combinations to pick from within each faction. Well, 10.0 is going to throw off that balance.
With the announcement that Blizzard wants to look at removing the class race combos in the future, starting with Priest, Mage and Rogues in 10.0, This is what it comes down to, Horde has 6 slots that will be unlocked, while Alliance will only have 2.
Now, with Shadowlands supposed to be about “customizations”, we see how that failed when they decided to give some very little options and the rest nothing. And understandably, I know it isn’t simple to flick the switch for other class to be unlocked for other races, as there is lore to be designed around them, and other stuff, but nobody knows how long this all is going to take.
This isn’t to diminish the point but I’m confused as to why this matters. With cross faction, this kind of thing doesn’t mean much of anything. At least, I can’t come up with a reason why it should matter.
Nothing new there, Alliance has only held the lead once and it was just for a single patch cycle, it’s either been tied or Horde Lead.
Though they could fix it very easily. Give Worgen the Monk and Paladin, give Nelves the Paladin, Give Kul Tirans the Paladin, give Lightforged the Monk, and give Dwarves the Druid.
Hell toss in Goblin Monks too and everything is even.
I actually like ALL of these combos too. The dwarf druid also balances out the fact that Horde has one more druid than Alliance which annoys me deeply.
I think we can only have 50 characters in one account.
And like they said they would give everyone everything basically with some set up.
Very small thing to complain about. Since you really can’t play all the race/class combos.
At the same time the alliance did basically get forsaken elves and undead druids basically the fact that alliance got any dark ranger customization for like a forsaken thing is huge imo. Not like the horde got night elves or nightwarrior stuff for example.
If they change their mind about going all race/class one day (because they did leave the loophole “not making any promises”) I would still like to see:
Dwarf Druids
Kul Tiran Warlocks and Paladins
Night Elf Paladins
Gnomes Paladins and Shaman
Worgen Monks
Draenei DH (with exclusive red and gray skin)
So far I counted Alliance races right now have 100 race/class combos. Horde have 101 race/class combos.
The next patch horde will have a bit more. But that’s mostly since all alliance can be priests and mages already.
Alliance get 2 rogues, horde get 2 rouges, 2 priests, 2 mages. So it would only be 6 more race/class combos;
So you would need to be playing 3 accounts to even make it relavent if you plan on playing them all.
When you consider stuff like alliance getting forsaken customization I think it does a bunch of stuff towards alliance. Since we are all getting customization. Horde did not get nightwarrior stuff. But did basically give away blood elf and forsaken stuff to alliance.
Alliance have 100 race/class combos, Horde have 101 race/class combos.
With 10.0, the Alliance will have 103 and the Horde will have 109.
It’s not about playing them all it’s about having the option to, why should one faction have far more race/class combos?
Again, race/class combos> red eyes, to even compare the two is laughable, the only argument you have regarding the eyes is that Void Elves shouldn’t have gotten them which I agree with.
I recounted and It’s like the same on each side right now.
The alliance also go forsaken now which is a bit annoying. Not to mention the blood elf stuff.
You got undead forsaken customization. I don’t see horde getting any void elf stuff or living human stuff… or anything from alliance really. Those are basically like having an allied race within a race. You yourself are using the undead night elf stuff, which the horde can’t even access even though the undead night elves on horde joined in BFA.
The undead were given several Human hairstyles in Wrath, so in reality the Alliance is just getting back what they’re owed.
But if you wanna get into the Lore aspect of it, do the Tirisfal quests in 9.2.5, the Dark Ranger says the Night Elves raised wish to return to their people. Meaning they are no longer being controlled and have free will so they returned to their faction.
