It does interconnect players with the addon, creating a “social network”.
And blizzard said that was a big fat NO for classic 2 years ago.

You can use /who in the area you are in and look around for people and you know what ? /whisper the lucky chosen person “hey we need another guy for tanking, or healing, or dps’ing how about you come on and join us ?” and give them a good experience be kind make jokes and enjoy classic the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

except it also includes people without the addon…
so I guess there wont be any addons that can talk to eachother… have fun with no dps or threat meters…

As much as we want Classic to be about having the same experience as when we played for the first time we need to keep in mind that we changed along the way. #NoChanges is a fallacy. Everything up until now has been a compromise with #NoChanges as a guiding principle rather than as an irrevocable law.
I certainly do not have the time that I used to have 15 years ago. The time that I will have available to play will be minuscule and the last thing I need is to waste time waiting to fill a group. As much as I would like to, at this point completing BRD in a single sit (or UBRS) is something that I can pretty much discard.
So when a more sensible solutions to finding a group comes along don’t attack it just because it goes against YOUR vision of what Classic should be.
On a final note, never claim “this is what everyone wants” or “this is what every person that played back in vanilla wants” because, want to guess? not one single person represents anyone else but themselves.

Both damage and threat meters worked with the old api from 2005, but nice try
Expect to be RCR by trolls that are entirely within their right to do so. Since an official LFG channel exists, posting in general or trade is considered spam.
All of these problems are why people were cautious to get rid of this addon. We’ve opened Pandora’s box.

You’re okay with threat meters not working? Why? They were heavily used in vanilla.

Fine, then in the dedicated LFG chat it is… My point still stands.
We all understand perfectly well.
We don’t have issues with communicating with actual people, and we know that’s a part of how communities form, nor do we need a tool to enable us to communicate because we lack the ability to do so ourselves.

I haven’t been following classic development lately, but what about addons like decursive? Will it also be disabled?
