So, you caved to the pressure of a very vocal part of the community. Meanwhile, many people would very much like to use addons like this that were in Vanilla and you keep moving the goalposts, taking more and more away from the Classic experience.
Good luck with that, catering to the people who scream and wail and cry about every little thing is going to leave you with a very fractured community, far from what Vanilla really was all about.
And I won’t be replying to any posts reacting to my post so have at it.

Bravo, blizzard, obviously the correct action to take. There’s another version of wow that evolved into a game where this type of functionality can be enjoyed to the fullest.
This addon is antithetical to what “classic” wow was, and should rightfully be limited.

I want to use addons to de-clutter my screen, scale and hide specific UI elements, etc. People forget that many, many addons exist that don’t show you which quest route to take, automate group finding for you, or things like that.
Plus, addons have been around since WoW released. If people want to play with addons, that isn’t a problem. It becomes a problem when addons start to undermine community. An LFG addon that attempts to bypass player interaction, even if it’s just for forming the group, definitely crosses that line.

I did watch the video, it works just like LFG in retail which is fine.
he hit 1 button to turn on auto invite just like the raid leader hitting the auto invite macro in vanilla.
once that was turned on the first people to whisper him the keyword got invited…
It has less than 14k downloads. While here on these forums and across many others - the collectively has been in an uproar over it. So maybe the users are the minority here?

To be fair, classic did have a group finder addon, it just wasn’t very well known or widely used because it wasn’t around until 1.11 or 1.12.
Because they got the facts wrong. When you look into something you usually get facts right. And because, its Vanilla like but lots of popular people don’t remember it (because they ddidn’t really play vanilla) and thus things need done.
Man this is unfortunate news to come back to. I can understand why many dislike the addon/want to keep the full classic experience…but finding groups in classic wasn’t exactly the best part of classic.
When you’re in a 40 man raiding guild, no addon is fine…groups galore. But do we all plan to ditch the friends we made over the past several years to apply to those? The addon seemed similar to setting up groups for mythic in retail…which I see as the perfect middle ground.
IDK to each their own I guess, no changes wins

People who want changes to classic need to understand that they kept retail in place just for you.

The problem is that it actually was part of vanilla…
CTA did basically the same thing in vanilla
and there were stones and innkeepers which also did the same thing.

I didn’t say what you suggest I did and no reasonable reader would think I did either. Stop being unreasonable.
They need to break all LFG addons. If other addons break because of that, then the creators can find their workarounds.
Yikes and the game hasn’t even launched yet.
This is honestly the worst possible scenario. Depending on how much Blizzard breaks, all of these people are going to look for a replacement and it’s going to be an out of game thing that actually divides the players.
I really feel bad for anyone going into Classic without knowing other people that will be playing.
