Honestly if you’re going to go back to ‘the flavour of Vanilla’ you should allow autowalking addons and one-click Healbot and Decursive, not roll back features.

depends on your version of classiclfg. if it used lookingforgroup (server, layered) then no. if you used a custom channel (e.g. ‘world’ as most realms tended to) those are global and thus across layers. they run into a problem with the maximum number of members which also existed in vanilla though and that’s separate.
No changes is a huge lie. look at the server set up…we wanted a return to vanilla they are giving us blizzard’s version of private server mega servers…
they are giving us layers instead of a realistic number of servers and then they are going to give us a crap show of a post phase 1 game.
If you are crying about an addon you are too distracted to realize the betrayal they are serving up where they label the authentic no changes experience as "low’ and then discourage everyone from trying to roll there.

It 100% was knee-jerk. They summarized the addon wrong, and the spirit that it has against classic… is the spirit VANILLA had. I used these there were two of them i know of and they used their own/private chat channels to list groups into a ui friendly format.
Blizz didn’t even know this, they didn’t really know what the addon does… it just seemed unclassic like. Well at least un 1.1 classic like… well so are the talents.

Global channels aren’t restricted to a single layer. That’s why in stress tests you would see a million people spamming “INV TO ASMON LAYER” over and over.
Are we going to add discord to warden now because thats going to kill the ingame community more than the lfg addon would have

If this thread is indicative of the general consensus, not everyone agrees with banning the addon.

Those complaining this happened and blaming the community for it, need to go back to the fact this was stated as a possibility for certain kinds of addons that could break the spirit of classic, at Blizzcon, and later by Ion on a Q&A. Blizz are just sticking to their guns. Yes they mention feedback from the community, but they already said things like this would not fly with them, before people started writing the new addons.
