Is there any chance of being able to play Classic WoW without having to subscribe to WoW? Maybe a reduced price subscription to play only Classic WoW.

you could get a starter account and play to lvl 20 . then make another starter account and play to lvl 20 and so on .

You should have used the search feature before posting this thread, which is a duplicate question that’s been asked (and ignored) many times. They’ve already stated WoWC comes with a current sub, not free, not reduced, not anything but with a main sub. They haven’t commented since, on anyone’s thread, so I doubt they’ll post on yours, which could be considered spam considering there’s other threads asking identical things.

Chances are slim to none, at best. I wouldn’t hold my breath for it.

There is only WoW subscription that allows access to all versions of WoW.
If they want to support multi-tier access to different variations of the same games in their subscription system, they would have build that capability into that account system 3-6 months ago. Changing their account system now is probably too risky and too late. The account system is too critical in Blizzard operations for them to make such changes now.

No. Only reason classic wow exists is to please shareholders with total subcount rising
And do you think they are more or less likely to address this concern if everyone who is willing to pay a lesser sub fee just reads a single post and walks away or if there are multiple posts addressing the issue?
Didn’t know $15 was impossible to pay. If you want everything for free don’t get upset about quality or changes to something. You have no right to an opinion when you’re playing for free. It’s like getting a free farm raid run for achievements and crying over gear going to mains from the raiding core.
I almost 99% sure no, the only way to access Classic is to pay the sub fee, the free account would be to base WoW.

Actually you have a point, which proves what I’m saying. One thread capped at max posts would get more attention than 100 threads with 20 posts that eventually die off like the rest have.
If all you pro-discount/free WoWC proponents posted in a single place the thread would ultimately carry more weight than a ton of obscure, forgotten threads.

Creating more and more new topics can hinder a cause, because it’s a literal violation of the CoC which states that you can’t make new threads on existing topics, it’s spam, so by doing so the posters risk being flagged for spam and undermining their own cause.
We do not have an official answer to this, but I suspect not.
You may be able to barter with some fresh fish and an animal pelt or two.

Wouldn’t starter editions hinder gold sellers because of the chat/channel/trade/AH restrictions? Are gold sellers likely to keep paying a sub to unlock those features only to be banned when they’re caught out?

In spite of the rolling toxicity in here, they have to charge the sub fees to maintain the server support. The fee may be reduced, but I doubt it. Blizzard likes money and people absolutely will pay $15 a month to play classic wow.
Sorry man, but you’re gonna have to pay to play it now. As soon as they offer classic WoW, they’ll probably chase private servers much, much harder.
