With Classic around the corner and the upcoming release of character creation I am wondering if Classic will have the same server names as what we currently have or if there will be a completely new list.
If this could be clarified it would allow my friends and I to pick a server where we can attempt to create our characters with the desired names before the release.
I expect it to hit after the last Stress Test. Giving us two weeks until name rez and four until launch
The servers will have new names, not the same ones that already exist.
It is unlikely that we will know what they are until name reservation day on August 13.

Not that I recall, no.
In fact, most of what people think of as “launch servers” didn’t exist at the very first launch; there were a LOT of new servers created in the first few days.
Is this a for sure thing they’ve stated or just speculation?
Pretty sure it is confirmed, they said it on the forums some months ago.
They said it in an interview actually, I think.
Either way yeah it’s confirmed by Blizzard.
This applies to all realms, not just Oceanic.
