Quite some time ago, someone told me about a wowhead-like website that has all the old information about classic wow. I thought I bookmarked it, but silly me didn’t. Does anyone know about this and can point me to the site?

Here are the sites I use.

WoWhead - Classic
Classicdb (this is what you’re thinking of)
Classicwowtools (this is a character template creator. It lets you pick a default level 60 and put different items on them to see their stats!)

That’s about it.

You can also see the original thottbot. com on archive. org, lots of broken images but the databases are still there.

I just wish the search function would operate as it did when the site was live…

It’s human nature to improve things and advance.

Unfortunately there is a disease that net culture has, and that’s called the tech bubble.

The problem this presents is a situation where were back to pre-net tribal know complete with specialist trade like proprietary nomenclature.

My issue with this is very specific. Web pages used for basic knowledge and new users should stick to the industry standard arcitectue complete with very robust and intuitive search tools.

Unfortunately most modern designs are pure garbage with a total lack of quality filters or even a true fully functional search function.

Modern US made stuff is so bad that it makes the eastern European web pages look like a true top tier professional master work.

Brows any modern forum and compare that to forums that have 10000X the information from 15+ years ago.

The difference in functional and effective use is tremendous. Modern sites are flat terrible.

Wowhead is cancer. It would be great if they just rereleased Thottbot as it was as the vanilla DB.

I know, I was just goofing around a bit, but sometimes we take it too far by fixing things are not broken. :slightly_smiling_face:

I completely agree with you. There are some sites out there that just are insane and make no sense at all with the design. I’m not a computer person, but I know a badly designed site when I see it.

Man really puts it in perspective… you start looking for axes for preraid fury and the itemisation is so lacking. On the other hand swords/maces are everywhere.
