Classic Wow Mainframe concern

From my knowledge the Classic WoW will be a modified, down patch version of 7.x Legion client.

Does that mean new bugs and exploits will crop up due to the client difference?

Probably. Always new bugs. But seeing as they are releasing content in batches I’d assume they fix those.

For sure this is inevitable. I’m really curious about how they will deal with some of the ‘old bugs’ the one I can think of specifically is they said there won’t be any wall jumping, but didn’t someone who cracked the demo find out that you could still walljump to get under sw?

Hotfixes are still a thing.

Demo was a snapshot of an unfinished product, so any activity of exploits really isn’t indicative of classic.

Not saying it is, just going to be interesting to see what happens. Because the way it was explained was that they were unable to replicate wall jumping with the new engine or whatever, and if people actually found this in the demo do you think they’ll fix it? Or leave it? I personally don’t have an opinion on what I think they’ll do I just am wondering what it will be

Of course there will be new bugs. Exploit early and often.

It is blizzard. They could release a carbon copy of 1.12 and they would still manage to have bugs in it.

if they did, they lied. it was specifically said that their current software has exploit detection and automatically prevents things like wall jumping. in any form.
this exploit detection is apart of the modern system- which is what classic will be running on (and thus, the demo).

Leave my shortcut to Scarlet Monastery alone!

That’s how software works man. Nothing is ever 100% perfect. Sorry to burst your Blizzard hate bubble.

Can’t wall jump to SW from Westfall, even if the system let you walljump.

I don’t think we are thinking of the same glitch…I’m talking about in SW where you walljump on that torch and then jump under SW

Right, but my point is that the demo was limited to Westfall and Barrens - so anyone claiming they wall jumped under StormWind is blatantly lying.

No, people cracked the demo the moment is was able to be downloaded and created their own server from it. I can show you a vid if you want.

Oy.

If they “cracked the demo” on their own private server then it wasn’t running on Blizz’s system now was it? Therefore the anti-cheat is inactive.

Is it an actual anti-cheat that doesn’t allow them to wall jump? I’m not sure how that works exactly…

It corrects the problem if you did.

I guess I have never seen this actually work which is why I am confused on how it actually works.

For all I have seen people can still wall jump

My understanding - and it is limited - is that the “anti exploit” thing is essentially a routine running on the server that detects “anomalies” so no Blizzard connection no detecting.
