Hey fellow Classic Fans!
A little about me
So I am an old school guild/raid leader from Vanilla. I lead the top raid guild for our server throughout vanilla. I have so many great memories of playing with my guildies and friends. It was so much fun seeing everyone gear up together, progressing in raids, joking and enjoying the game together. Honestly making friends, playing together and depending on one another is what I loved most about vanilla. It's the community aspect that made classic so amazing to me! So what do you want from a Classic Guild?
1) How many players would be interested in having a guild group already setup for launch?
2) What do you want out of a guild in Classic?
3) What kind of loot system do you want for your raid group? What do you think is most fair.
4) What are you planning to play! Class/Faction
So I am highly considering building another guild for Classic. I know all the raids in and out.. (As well as the buggy tricks if they don't fix them! Hopefully they do haha!). I am a HUGE fan of DKP (Dragon Kill Point Bid systems). They balance themselves numerically. They reward raid attendance and dedication. I would love to build a large community together with multiple raid teams in Classic. Who would be interested in this? If I find enough like minded players I will setup the website and DKP tracking system and have everything rolled out ready to go. I already have several old friends coming back for this. Let me know what you think/want out of a Classic Guild! I of course will be a Protection Warrior =)

We are practicing and preparing for classic already. And we are using a DKP system.
I think you’d fit right in.

I am seriously interested in forming a Classic Rauding Guild ready for roll out upon release of the game.
If a Protection Warrior / Main Tank soot is filled I am perfectly willing to lvl and join the guild as a Holy healing Undead Priest.
Interested players may contact me at stephenjude23@mac.com.

Expect to get more bites around May. ;)
A friend and I were discussing making a social guild and calling it House Dustbunny, for people who weren't chasing the raiding and pvp brass rings.

Alliance.
PvE server.
No private server players (they have a skewed vision of what Vanilla was.)
People that aren't obsessed with sex and playing with themselves.
Nice people.
It's a pretty simple list, really.

Which criteria are you having trouble understanding? I can elaborate.

You sound like a blast to have in voice chat. My turtle went all the way in its shell just imagining you.
I'm likely leaning towards Alliance again. I loved my gnome warrior. Also paladins DI spell has some... interesting uses unless they fixed things... Haha
I haven't decided I may try to start a guild mainly because of my weird availability makes it hard for me to join the tues/wed/thur average 7 to 10 raid time that most guilds aim for not sure what my first char will be if I go pally it will have to be alliance but who knows.

Honestly I always lead guilds/raids because I wanted them to fit my schedule as well! It makes it easier!
I just want a guild that actually wants to down stuff. I want a guild that doesn't bring useless specs and either DKP or loot council. Loot council can get messy with 40 people slowly gearing up so I'd probably prefer DKP.
I'm going to answer based on my original plans, with the hypothetical that I go into WOW: Classic eager and excited to play for years which I'm currently lacking.
I'm more interested in working with a few people to each of us get our own personal guilds set up. Ideally that means one or two personal guilds per realm. (Two on a single faction comes up as needed later, but easier to make as early as possible.)
I prefer to have the guild remain smaller and be people who seem to share similar short- and long-term goals in WOW: Classic, similar attitudes toward loot and progressions (very low-key, the complete opposite of the high-pressure progression racers).
The benefit of building a close-knit group without feeling pressure to constantly be socially involved. It's nice to log in, see some people on, say hi and get a hi back, but not require more. It's nice to have people occasionally ask if someone can help with this or wants to join for that, but again without some odd pressure that you're in the guild so you're supposed to or you're not contributing.
My reasons for being guilded in vanilla actually started with not wanting any more random guild invites or whispers. Once guilded, there were a few people I'd made friends with who wanted the same and were happier to join mine than deal with making their own - and liked that sense of having a few people around to say Congrats, to offer profession recipes to, etc.)
Rather long-term, I would like to build up opportunities to have 5-man dungeon groups, then some of the mid-range dungeon/raid instances, and finally poke into raids assuming enough people are still around.
From all my raiding in BC (not as guild leader, in fact most often not even as a member of their guilds), I preferred suicide kings with rolls. I'd like to mix that with players who genuinely all want to do well together (so think loot council, but with the "council" being all the players who could use that item as an upgrade or sidegrade working it out, and the suicide king+rolls as the final arbiter if more than one person is determined to really need it).
Truthfully, anyone who is gear-driven to the point they'd be upset to have another player get something they wanted wouldn't last long and would be encouraged and supported in looking for another guild more to their tastes.
Everything. With respect to who I'd eventually be trying to raid on, I would like to make my Horde characters my main, but by the time I'm really getting to this I'd want to have at least one class to 60 and with okay gear for each possible role, so that no matter what players I have in available, we can find a raid comp that will work.

Yes, I realize you were asking the question more thinking of what to put together that you can invite others to, but I really can't see myself every joining a typical raiding guild. (I went from raiding in BC as the friend everyone invited when they needed someone to fill a slot, mostly this gal, but also a prot warrior, a subt rogue, and an afflic loc, so every role, to raiding as MT in a progression guild in Wrath. The latter burned me out hard. I prefer the looser and more casual grouping over feeling like its a committed job where I can never miss a night.)

Maybe! I'm curious how your practicing though bud? Playing private servers? I tried them long ago and the boss mechanic scripts were never the same as on vanilla. That was long ago though.
I'm leaning towards my alliance bud.... But.... Tauren warriors were the best tanks without question!.. So maybe I stay horde!
It's interesting to see a few guilds already setting up rosters! I love the thought! But I think it's difficult to set something up so far in advance. For example in Vanilla I had no life and I was one of the first to 60. I played with a group from Everquest. Brotherhood of the Spider AKA Drow if anyone knew them. Well it took them so long to catch up in levels that I got bored and formed my own Group/Guild. Which actually ended up taking almost every max level out of their guild when I left. So a problem is when half of the players are max level and waiting for others to catch up most of them will want to raid. (Remember Vanilla's level grind is a MOFO! Even if you play all day every day!) So if you're trying to build the elitist #1 server guild I think that's almost impossible. It's going to form naturally. The people who hit max level first will all just link up via /who 60... Hah. Honestly that's how I recruited. I just took every max level and organized a group quickly. If you're building a group of people who is just trying to take the game at their own pace and not try to rush the KT kill you could likely set that up!
Remember Vanilla raiding is a difficult situation to manage. If they use the same old lockout system people can be excluded very easily and move to another guild/group. No one wants to be the raid bench warmer.
What is your goal for the Exploited Gaming guild?
Not sure about that guy but PvE is a dealbreaker for me.11/09/2018 07:55 PMPosted by Fallanaa11/09/2018 07:53 PMPosted by BanduluWtf?

that's why i'm going to be running a weekend guild. friday/saturday for raiding. when we get there.

Ya i got to be a weekend warrior either sat/sun or late night fri and anytime say or sun type deal because i work 2nd shift.
My plan is to scan what guilds are starting up and what they are looking for as another thing i despise is pvp servers so ill def be going pve i like to pvp when i deicde to not being forced by gankers. Another is player type so to speak i am not hardcore and never will be as someone in their late 30s life and job i dont have time to make this game a 2nd job im not racing for server first I was once in a guild who was all about that but they had enough members to make a 2nd raid group for those a bit more laid back
I want to progress but in a laid back nature this game aint that serious so looking to either get into or start a guild with progression those who know when it time to strap in and get the task at hand down but at the same time nothing worse then being on discord/vent guild chat whatever and feeling like i am in boot camp its ok to shoot the !@#$ and crack jokes during trash pulls or just in general but also knowing there certain time you do need to settle down and let one person talk.
I am also not big into being spoken to like a child by someone i am probably old enough to be their mother i will take you out back with the belt and show you what happen in my day when you raised a voice to your elders lmao.. ok im not that old but you get the point. Me personally i will never get loud at someone for screwing up ill provide ya feedback and if you still stand in baddie or wont follow the mechanic ill let you know if it becomes harmful to the group as a whole but ill never be that person who cusses or gets loud on voice making someone feel like POS and i will never want to be a part of guild like that..
I would prefer to find a guild like this as i am coming into classic alone most of my wow friends will be staying on retail so its a lot to start a guild on my own specially since i never did one in classic and TBC so a lot of the loot system i am unfimilar with running them and recruiting is a pain as one person and other things.

Actually, he's 100% on-point.
Private server players don't know what true Vanilla was (because PS aren't true Vanilla), they aren't good people overall (I've played on some and never met anyone decent), and they are going crazy all over this forum attacking anyone that is not against sharding at the start.
They simply can't be trusted.

There were no "useless" specs in vanilla. OTOH, there were a lot of useless players who didn't know how to play their class to the fullest. Also more than a few who didn't understand there was far more to the fights than leading on the DPS meter...
