All these WoW classic hardcore players would cry if they came to know what they had to do to just earn gear and make gold.

A lot of the difficulty came from playing on junk computers and trash internet. I can’t tell you how many times my guild wiped in Naxx progression back in vanilla because some dude DC’d in the middle of the polarity change, or a tank’s PC melted while tanking one of the Horsemen. One night i died to the acid dance like 7 times because i was constantly lagging and getting clipped over and over.
If anything, the leveling process is a lot more challenging, i just lv’d a shaman to 60 this week, it took some effort to get through that last stretch and i also leveled a Priest from 20-120 in two days in retail by spamming dungeons from Orgrimmar.
The only thing “difficult” about Classic is playing it long enough to level a toon to 60 without dying of boredom.

It’s harder than Retail, but patch 1.12 makes pretty much everything in Classic trivial compared to what it was before.
wasnt the first raid cleared in a day? and wasnt it recleared with no gear on? or w/e

true vanilla didnt have sharding, and only thottbot could help you find directions.
you didnt know where to go and you had to wait for quest items/targets to be available without sharding.
classic =/= vanilla
ofc its easier now you got all the info everywhere and theres sharding

i enjoyed my time in classic, but my issue was that at end game, it became repetitive and boring for me, and the ‘just roll an alt’ thing wasn’t as much fun. Honestly, i love d the leveling with the guild though…that was fun.
Guilds and friends were pretty much the only thing that kept me sane during the leveling lol.
I believe that raids were cleared on their opening days, they are ancient and aren’t really mechanically challenging, though I doubt they were cleared with no gear.
It’s still relatively easily just from normal knowledge of gaming plus the years of experience in retail wow. Classic wow is easier than current wow in every aspect other than leveling and it’s not like the leveling is even that difficult it’s just slower.
Slower because it’s more difficult; can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone pull 10+ mobs while leveling and survive lol.
Exactly my point, you have to pull 1 at a time which makes it slower.

I read the quest text and was able to level a character mostly solo to lvl 15 without much hassle and I even made enough gold or silver to get skills trained, repair, professions trained and also finish quests.
Zero addons all of this. While the levelling experience is very enjoyable, it’s the only thing which is enjoyable in a 14 year old primitive game.
EDIT: The illusion that it’s hard is complemented by the fact that in classic, resources take a lot more time to generate so you’re left with auto attacking and hoping and praying to God that somehow a button will become active.
So no. Classic is crap

There is nothing hard in Classic as I mentioned in my post other than artificial difficulty created by the game where it forces you to watch Netflix while auto attacking when suddenly
A WILD ABILITY APPEARED
You rush to press it but the enemy just died and you have to eat food while watching your resource you just generated for your ability wash away
EDIT: If it matters, I did Ragefire Chasm in classic on that level and I was a tank.

It’s a different game. And private server guilds had 13 years of practice on how to exploit every little leveling and power advantage they could. If guilds had 13 years of practice, world firsts would be less than a hour.
But it’s a very different game with some amazing qualities and some glaring warts. Worth leveling a toon up to 20 at least. Best to go in with a stable 5 person group because at about level 30 it really starts to suck if you’re on your own.
i will say that what Classic did do for me was give me a greater interest in retail endgame.

A raid boss was downed while naked is my understanding correct? Fairly certain you couldn’t kill the first boss in any current raid on live naked.
