My biggest problem with Cataclysm is the changes it made to the old world to facilitate flight. Now, I’m not a guy who’s anti-flight by any stretch of the imagination, but breaking the world and dumping 90% of its content just to replace it with sub-par pop culture references just to “justify the addition of flight” doesn’t exactly endear me to Cataclysm.
From what I can see, the games that people PLAY are those that people stream.
Because of that you can forget about people streaming BFA because it’s a dumpster of a game.
BFA:
- The classes are 100% broken.
- Game mechanics are 100% crap.
- Content is 98% weak sauce (excluding Mythic)
- Gear is 100% transitory and lacks any luster…
Who wants to play that? No one. Every one said in 7.X that 8.X will fix it, just as they said about 7.X regarding 6.X…
Guess what? Still garbo, and everyone has gotten the memo, Modern WoW is in the grave.
CLASSIC RISES AGAIN!
The representation of ratio is accurate however.
-
Massive population of players on Vanilla (private)
-
Microscopic population of players on Modern WoW (private)
Modern WoW cannot compete outside of its cash shop where the whales keep the game floating by means of appetites.
I would much rather play a game I can play to level cap and start over again at my leisure without having to worry about mandatory expansions and class changes and graphics updates every two years.
Classic so far offers me that.
Yeah you obviously have no clue what you are talking about lol.
I will gladly play classic once this rush is over and the real classic community exists.
Never said you would not, I have actually said more or less the opposite; Classic WoW is where all the action is going to be.
also meaningless for the reasons I stated.
Modern WoW does just fine, no version of the game was going to keep the sub heights it reached.
You’re right. Modern WoW still pays the bills in spades. But we don’t really know what the outcome of Classic’s release will be. Will’s prediction could be true, my prediction could be true, or Fate could throw us a damn curveball and neither of us hit the mark.
We’ll just have to see.
BFA has literal years worth of content supporting it beyond the expansion, an expansion which still produces daily content for a variety of players. BFA has way more stuff to do at end game, more things for everyone. I’m sorry but you’re just wrong here. Flat out wrong.
oh i think it will be a success.
BFA has far, FAR too much to do in the short time we have to do it. It’s overwhelming, and not in any way casual-friendly as a result.
Classic will be the exact opposite.
Oh, and very little of what BFA offers is actually fun and engaging.
where to begin, there is so much:
retail wow is fun for a totally different reason than classic. retail is fun in the sense of a fun online game you can play once a day for an hour, mostly by yourself.
whereas classic is fun because you honestly can only do somethings by yourself, and what you do do, is often quiet intense, from level 1-endgame. it absorbs you, whereas retail doesn’t. classic can be addictive, retail is not difficult enough outside mythics, and thats because the game is too big. it’s gotten so large, it has to accelerate earlier levels.
Really? I ask because I have seen exactly 0 streamers anything nice about BfA. It is most described with words that would get you banned to repeat.
I would say, release classic. give it a couple years… and CHANGE the story with classic in mind. btc maybe but different, or maybe Wrath first but different… Time to rewrite the World of warcraft! why not have 2 mmo’s and make money
Syrup is cheating.
OT: I can easily see classic out stripping retail in warm bodies for atleast a month. After that? I honestly don’t know.
I dunno. towelliee seems pretty content. he even called out asmongold for his BFA rant video. towelliee basically told him to quit crying and quit if retail wow sucks lol
Because Blizzard are on record saying running two MMO’s is not something they want to do.
Yeah go back and see how they talked about it immediately following release on their twitters and streams “most fun i have had in a long time.”
Then the hate culture churned up amongst the masses and they suddedly hated it.
Are you people really that close to resembling a mage’s sheep spell?
So you don’t want classic to succeed?
On the contrary. I very much want it to succeed.
I just don’t think we’re going to get the numbers you lot keep saying we will.
