Classic WoW Appreciation

We all eagerly await Classic release. Many have taken time off to play all we want for the first week.

Now think about this… the people working on and developing Classic. They have to work during release. This is a monumental sacrifice, for our (the player) good.

Please, take a moment. Say your thanks. Tell them how much you appreciate what they’re doing. Assure them Classic will succeed. Because, we will support it.

Thank you! I appreciate all your hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. I appreciate you, in the future, when the server inevitably goes down unexpectedly, and you fix it. Take my money!

I played WoW from original release right through to the death of talent trees, removing them took so much from the game and gave nothing beneficial in return. This single act alone was enough for me to abandon not only WoW, but every other Blizzard title, I became a strongly anti-blizzard gamer for nearly a decade.

Then I heard that “Classic” was coming out, logged into to my old account and saw it was true…I was excited to say the least, but still skeptical. I renewed my sub for a month so I could play retail to see if they finally fixed WoW, only to find it’s more of an abomination than my worst nightmares.

Which brings me to yesterday, when I logged into classic with my wife for the first time in years. It felt every bit the way WoW is supposed to be, there’s a level of intelligence required to quest, it feels challenging and rewarding again. We spent hours questing together and planning our future gaming path.

I still feel shocked, like i’m dreaming and don’t want to wake for fear it will end. The game I’ve loved and enjoyed countless hours gaming with my wife has returned. All the ill-will and anger I bore towards Blizzard feels like a distant memory, the only complaint I have is this should have happened sooner. The only fear remaining is that even Classic is going to be destroyed sooner or later again, but I figure we’ll have a couple of golden years at least.

Maybe it is actually possible to capture lightning in a bottle twice, time will tell. In the mean time, bravo Blizzard, bravo…take my money again.

I’ve resubbed after some months away for classic.

Can’t wait! Sometimes I feel like retail isn’t Warcraft anymore.

Classic makes me feel like I’m right back in Azeroth.

Awesome work Blizzard.

I too am very happy that Classic is coming back. The 2 stress tests have been great to play on, even for the short time that it was. It was still better than BFA.

I even talked my brother into playing during this last stress test. He loved it. Still the same character models, but dusted off and given a fresher look.

Way to go Blizzard!!! People will always complain about something. Even I do at times. But, this has been a great experience being back in Azeroth, the way it use to be.

THANK YOU BLIZZARD!!!

I second this, thank you Blizzard for working so hard on this to make your WoW Classic game base have fun playing once again. The community is back and people actually want to help people play and be successful, I love that.

Brought me back also. However, we are nearly in 2020, the game should be updated, I think, with a whole new engine. In fact, I think this is a great opportunity to re-launch the game. But, I will say many of the “new” gamers may not like the difficulty but they can always play normal I suppose.

So happy we can play test, over the weekend.

I wasn’t this upset, but I resonate a lot with this post. I didn’t like BC, but some features were cool. I absolutely loved the new zones, and quests and all, in Wrath because I love Arthas’ story. I was also thankful for some new features. Flying was neat, going to Northrend was so, so, so fun. Going back in time to cull along with Arthas, so fun lol. Being able to get into dungeons quickly? And raids? SO FUN!

…and then I realized things like flying, and fast Instance Queuing is what helped kill the thing I loved even more, which was the social aspect. The way the skill tree was changed, the hand-holding for quests, the hand-outs for quests and dungeons, and the achievements for sneezing into ones elbow… it just isn’t fun anymore for these reasons too. I really miss Vanilla. I quit playing after getting level 85 in Panda Exp… tried it with a few characters… nope. It was officially gone for me.

I came back, with my boyfriend, and am staying for Classic. It’s his first time playing, so I really hope Retail doesn’t spoil him. If so, I guess we wont be playing the same game lol >.<

Anyway, THANK YOU FOR CLASSIC!!! <3

Dear Blizzard,

I’ve never played Vanilla. I started in WoD. It was rough leveling in WoD and in Legion. I got so bored leveling up to 60 through dungeon and quest grinding. And after playing Classic, I see why everyone loves it. I’m actually having fun leveling. I REALLY AM HAVING FUN. I only leveled in retail to get to do raids with that character and often just boosted that character up just to save time. Now I truly feel like I’m playing the World of Warcraft. Seeing Orgrimmar before Cata with Thrall as the Warchief before he became Pickle Jesus really made me so happy. It feels like I’m time traveling back to 2004. You truly have made me love WoW.

Thank you!
