are you not happy with classic and all the changes? well if your like me and just come to the point of quitting and want the old school mmo game play that we love in classic i’ve been having a blast in guild wars 1 and it has become my replacement fun old school mmo experience with out all the terrible things that has plagued classic wow

Gw1 is great, but its a completely different game in almost every way
Its not gonna scratch that “itch” for most people looking for a wow alternative
the combat and gameplay seem very similar to classic to me and it was wow’s biggest competitor back in its day i think it’s perfect for anyone unhappy with classic
What’s wrong with classic wow ? I can’t recall one change that wasn’t needed up to now.

How is it in any way similar?
The combat is oldschool tab target click and stick to target where you are stationary and glued to your target while attacking, unlike wows free movement, the skill sets are locked to a build of 8 abilities which are usually very niche and specialized and the entire game revolves around being in a large party of either players or AI henchmen to accomplish anything
Its also an instanced based coop game rather than an open world mmorpg where you only see other players in the town hubs unless you invite them to your party
The level cap and max level gear is also completely different and essentially irrelevant compared to wows verticle progression leveling and gearing system. you reach level 20 and get the best quality gear possible very quickly and the endgame mostly revolves around horizontal progression where you are obtaining niche abilities from specific mobs and using different builds and party compositions to tackle missions
Its pretty much nothing like wow

I played GW1 during its open beta in Korea, which was the first month of release in NA.
I liked the starting 5 levels the best. Didn’t like the bot followers.
What made me quit was after having recruited people and formed a guild, we were unable to play together to contend for server dominance, as our guild was from all over the world.
GW was sort of fun, and pretty interesting, but imo, it doesn’t come close to WoW.
If you don’t like Classic go play Retail. If you don’t like Retail, play Classic. My guess is most people probably like both pretty well.
No open world pvp.
Ah I hate retail I will stay classic till something better comes along. That might be awhile.
Fair enough. There are so many, many of us playing WoW that of course some will undoubtedly dislike some iterations. There are some things that I dislike about Retail, but a lot of things I came to appreciate after playing Classic.
And there are some things I prefer about Classic, also 
You cant jump in gw1. I hated that.
You can jump in APEX Legends. It’s a pretty fun game. I’ve put in about 3000 hours, since WoW Classic launch.
I don’t want to start playing another 15 year old game. I really don’t want to be playing classic. I played it to death 15 years ago. I never bothered to down load questy because I remember where 99% of the quest objectives are. It’s ok to play it once more after 15 years. It’s fun enough for a while. But what I want is a brand new mmorpg. I want to start at the beginning with other players who are starting at the beginning with me. All of us doing something new together. Just like it was with wow. I’d like it to have most of the things I like in a game and few of the things I don’t.
I’m still holding out hope for Pantheon. We’ll see.
