Classic Wishlist

Just some thoughts I had when (as my partner puts it) my rose tinted goggles were firmly glued to my face, thinking about Classic coming out and what features we might want, won’t have, but would be a valued QOL improvement.

Dual spec is one thing I hope we will have, for the sake of sanity for those of us playing classes like Warriors who would be dropping 100g per week swapping between dps or tank specs.

I hope that we can also see some of the old abilities that previously had MASSIVE cooldowns (30-60m) at a comfortable 10 minutes since I miss popping Recklessness on my warrior and actually feeling like it’s good rather than what we’ve known it to be in it’s neutered state for the last decade.

I don’t remember either of those being in the game originally… weird…

As useful as dual spec would be for some classes in Classic, it would take a lot away from the Vanilla experience.

In Vanilla WoW I’m a Resto druid - retail I’m “the class that can outperform you at your role at the press of a button.”

Oh for…sake when will these threads stop popping up.
I am seriously tired of people who don’t actually like Vanilla asking for changes to Classic.

It’s people trolling.

Make a second warrior with different talents. Boom, just saved you thousands of gold

You know it’s funny, i was talking to two friends about this last night. About QOL in general about Vanilla WoW and it brought up the topic, and i’ll be honest here it really isn’t Black and White when it comes down to this, Mind you i’m firmly no changes and all.

But, my friend recently started wearing High heels, and she hates em while my other friend doesn’t mind em at all, and this was sorta about QOL in IRL.

But both friends quit around Mop / Wodish, but she was complaining the fact that it’s just a lot harder to do certain things in em. One interesting thing i found out that there is actually a Highheel with a Swiss army knife built into it, so i just recommended it to her, and let’s be honest, a Swiss army knife is hell of friend to have around especially when you’re just going out.

It was odd how she thought how insane it was to have say… These QOL changes to her shoe, but my other friend totally agreed and was a bit taken aback by how rash she was.

I mean, It’s never bad to have a bottle / can opener on hand or a letter opener etc. Even i found it weird, i suppose it’s because i just take a lot of it for granted being able to have a clip on for your belt etc. I suppose woman normally don’t really have that so it would be a pretty cool change you know? But my friend was just not having it, she was just going off on the two of us, and for the life of me i couldn’t understand why.

Anyway, as the night went on, she left and my other friend just kept shooting idea’s back and forth, and that’s when it hit me. It wasn’t the fact that it’s a change, it’s the fact that it goes against the integrity or the ideal of the shoe.

Sure it would be grand to have say a cork opener on your foot, but that’s just not what it was made for, funny how look at the small things irl help you see that things are fully gray. I always thought people who came in here asking for changes where trolls or ignorant on what classic was, but no they’re just like how i was when it came to high heels.

I hope this story helps people from both sides understand how #Prochangers and #Nochangers shouldn’t insult or bash heads, but debate with each other. Because let’s be honest, if you could have a philipshead on your high heels and still look classy without hurting the integrity of the shoe… I’m sure you would.

Is this some kind of copy pasta? I didn’t really understand where you were going with this response. No changes is the only philosophy else its not classic wow.

Oh, you mean mine? Its more so how we should keep to the integrity of the game and philosphy of it above all else. But to keep in mind where people who never played the game come from.

Have to keep in mind that minor QOL changes add up into retail over time.

totally support a reduction on the cap for respec cost… totally opposed to dual spec

Agreed, as I’ve said since almost day 1 of the old forums we should keep the game to how it was originally.

Quality of Life changes have ruined the game. There isn’t a single one I can think of that added to either the RPG or MMO that WoW used to be.

You can level 10-60 with Arms and do both PVP and early content fine with no respec cost. So your first respec to whatever raid role you are filling costs about 1g.

Sure it adds up down the line, but if you want to be both a raider and PVPer you need to have a means to generate gold anyway. 100G a week to respec is potentially cheap compared to what you are going to spend on consumables, enchants, repair bills etc.

Those abilities have long cooldowns because they are a very powerful ability and that makes you have to choose carefully when to use it. Arms Warriors with gear and a 5 minute Recklessness or Retaliation would be super broken.
